Reliable, Affordable Acid Reducer That Works as Well as the Name Brand
Reliable, Affordable Acid Reducer That Works as Well as the Name Brand GoodSense Omeprazole has been a staple in my medicine cabinet for years, and it works exactly as well as Prilosec OTC for a fraction of the price. Each tablet delivers 20 mg of omeprazole, and when taken as directed in a 14-day course, it keeps heartburn and acid reflux under control all day and night. It’s not meant for instant relief—you may need to give it 1–4 days to really take effect—but once it kicks in, the 24-hour protection is consistent. I’ve used it during stretches when I was dealing with frequent heartburn, and it reliably calmed symptoms and let my stomach heal. Some reviewers even mention benefits for ulcer healing, which makes sense since the acid suppression gives your body a chance to recover. The tablets are small, easy to swallow, and blister-packed. The only minor drawback is that the packaging can be a little fiddly to open, especially if you’re in a rush. But the medication itself is identical in effectiveness to the pricier brand-name version. At under $18 for 42 tablets (a full three 14-day courses), it’s one of the best values you’ll find for a PPI. I keep it stocked so I don’t have to run out to the store when reflux flares up. Bottom line: A trusted, cost-effective alternative to Prilosec OTC that delivers the same 24-hour heartburn relief. Works best as a 14-day course, and once it takes effect, it’s rock-solid reliable. r5

Works Great...Not Always A Price Saving, But Still Worth It.
There is truly nothing like Prilosec for heartburn and sour stomachs (or the generic name of Omeprazole, OM for shot). I've tried some of the other forms of acid reducers only to have them fail me after dinner, or still manage to wake me in the middle of the night with heartburn. Prilosec, or OM is the only thing I have ever used that just truly stops heartburn dead, for a full 24 hrs even. It may take a few days to really kick in with maximum protection, but once it does it just kills the fire inside you, and that is all she wrote. One thing about OM that is not usually advertised that much is how good it is for ulcer treatment. Most ulcers are well able to heal themselves without seeing a rich doctor for a prescription. It's just a matter of reducing the acid long enough to promote the healing and trust me, it works. I have suffered from stomach woes since I was a young man and this stuff if taken indefinitely does the job of healing very well. (I also recommend aloe vera juice when you are really suffering from a bad ulcer. Prilosec for 2 weeks along with a glass or two of aloe vera juice a day does me wonders). I love this stuff and always have it in the house.. The only thing that is disappointing is that price wise there just seems to not be any real deal on OM. It's one of the few things that one can buy in generic form that is not really any cheaper than the name brand in most cases. I save tons here on Amazon by buying the generic brand of a lot of health items, but this is unfortunately an exception. That being said, neither Prilosec nor the generic form of OM is really all that expensive if you want to take it regularly. (What I do is take it for 14 days and then go off it for 10 days to two weeks and feel fine. But many take it all the time if heartburn is a life long or chronic condition. ). You have to keep an eye on the price for this for it varies, but sometimes it is cheaper that the Prilosec. It works great and I highly recommend it even when the price is the same. I will confess that I buy it over the name brand even when its no deal just because I have always been a sucker for the underdog. Try it and feel better...: )

Generic Version of Prilosec
I've have acid reflux and this generic version of Prilosec is my preferred "Proton Pump Inhibitor". When taking just one 20 mg Omeprazole daily I have no acid reflux discomfort throughout the day and eat pretty much anything I want without worry. Omeprazole is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). Omeprazole is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms and if that's what you need in an over-the-counter antacid you might want to check out one of these brands here on Amazon: Alka-seltzer Original Effervescent Tablets, 72-Count Chooz Antacid Gum Tablets - 12 Mint Gum Pieces Tums Regular Strength Antacid Calcium Supplement Assorted Flavors -- 150 Chewable Tablets Phillips' Original Milk of Magnesia Liquid, 12-Ounce Bottle Gaviscon Extra Strength Liquid Antacid, Cool Mint Flavor 12 fl oz. Gelusil Antacid/Anti Gas Chewable Tablets, 100 ct Mylanta Gas Simethicone Anti-Gas, Maximum Strength, Chewable Mint, 24 Count (Pack of 4) Rolaids Extra Strength Tablets, Mint, 96 Count Pepto-Bismol Original, 12 Oz This Omeprazole is a great product for the long-term control of acid-reflux and I signed up for subscription plan available through Amazon so I'd never be without. I prefer the convenience of the larger Omeprazole Acid Reducer, Delayed Release, 20mg 42ct, By Equate bottles to the blister packs in this listing, but I don't see where this bottle version is available through Amazon's Subscribe and Save program. On the positive side, the pills aren't difficult to remove from these blister packs. Finally, no matter what brand of these I have bought, the package always indicates this medicine is made in Israel. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all made in the same facility and then branded differently.
