Works very well, heats up quickly and the magnet is strong!

Stir bar broke within 3 months - i had used it three times and otherwise had sat on my shelf. Don't waste your $$ on this. Now it's out of the return window and the seller wont respond to my inquiries so I'm out $150

After 2 months of use heating mantle is not heating anymore. Don’t buy!

I concur. It is, in fact, a beast! - with a UK plug.

In the image it says 150 mm opening but this isn't true. The metal cover has an opening of 148 mm but the glassfiber heating element inside has a opening of 137 mm, while most 1000ml flasks have a outer diameter of 140 mm. This results in the flask not touching the bottom of the heating mantle. I don't recommend this heating mantle except if you have very small 1000ml flasks.

After receiving the unit, I placed a couple of my flasks in it and noticed they sat much higher than expected. After reading other reviews, I measured the opening. It is advertised as 150 mm, but I measured only 134 mm, which is too small for any of my 1000 ml flasks. Even after trying to spread the insulation a bit, they still wouldn’t fit. I’ll be returning the mantle.
