Tamiya 24344 1/24 Honda NSX Plastic Model Kit

This is nicely detailed and assembles perfectly. I spent a lot of time painting and building this. For $40, it was a great deal of entertainment. Of course I spent another $50 on paint and materials, but that's the way it always goes.

Great Product.

The pieces for this car are beautiful. It is a very detailed model. The interior is wonderful and the engines are so much fun to build. However, the instructions specify for everything to be covered up! The underside of the car is supposed to be closed up with plastic plates, the front hood does not open, and the rear hood (there are two engines in this car) is supposed to be glued shut. Once you build the interior and engines, they all get hidden away and you can't see anything, which is ultimately disappointing. The decals and metal transfers are extremely difficult to apply, in particular to the clear plastic parts (not so much painted parts).

The kit has approximately 160 plastic parts. Fit was good up until step 19. There are no locators instead a diagram shows a confusing directions for parts f18 to a20, then to d22, repeat for opposite side. .Fit has to be perfect here because these components hold the windscreen and side windows in place and no locators exist. The parts easily slide out of position. The rear window also is involved in the fit of the front windscreen and it has no locators either and also can move. This area is the most critical for a proper build and the most poorly designed. In all nine parts hold the windscreen in place. If any part is not perfectly aligned your windows won’t fit.

This kit has clear instructions and great design. Not too difficult to assemble either. Good buy.
