EVIL ENERGY 4AN PTFE Fuel Line Kit, AN4 E85 Fuel Hose Line 10FT Black

PTFE 6AN hose had a Teflon hose as the inner hose to transport the fluid safely during high pressure and high heat. I needed this for my transmission fluid cooler. Other hoses reportedly can not handle the heat if there is a problem and my fluid temperature was running 266 degrees F before the cooler. Other hoses would have melted or burst but this hose is rated to handle that temp. The nylon outer covering is tightly woven allowing the included fittings to easily slide over the outer covering. The hose is stiff but can flex enough to follow a curve as long as it is not a sharp curve. This kit comes with hose, six fittings, two straight, two 45 degrees, two 90 degrees and a tool to straighten the Teflon and install the inner compression fitting after cutting/chopping it. Blow out the debris! The hose can be cut with a hand hacksaw like I did and following the instructions/youtube videos, install the fittings properly. The fittings will mar if you do not use the proper wrenches if you care. I just used my regular wrenches and secured them. I did notice that the 45 and the 90 fittings allow rotation even after fully tightened.

Fuel line was good quality and did not leak. Followed easy to understand instructions and worked perfectly. Looks like any high quality AN fittings.

I installed a 6 foot braided stainless AN fuel line in my hot rod over 20 years ago. I was shocked to discover it suddenly leaking fuel recently. I thought those blue and red AN lines were supposed to be the toughest racing quality high strength lines. After research I learned that they are not long-term compatible with our normal 10% ethanol 93 octane pump gasoline, that’s why my fuel line slowly rotted to the point of leaking. That could have been a catastrophic vehicle fire and a total loss if it happened to spring the leak while I was driving. Luckily it happened during inspection in storage. So obviously I needed these PTFE lines and should have used them in the first place. 20 years ago I don’t recall them existing. But these advertise even handling E85, so it’s a huge difference. Normal AN hoses have a black rubber core. These have a tough white inner sleeve made of Teflon (PTFE) instead. That’s the crucial difference. On the outside you can’t tell the difference. This kit was plentiful with many hose ends, giving me extras for future hoses. I was nervous about how difficult it would be to install the hose ends on these, but it was actually really easy! Surprisingly easy, I’d say even easier than normal AN hoses. I didn’t really need to use the nice aluminum pusher tool included with this kit. I did have 1 leak after installation, but I quickly solved that with just a bit of tightening of the hose end at that joint. So, you’ll want to tighten these firmly and leak test them if possible. I will definitely buy EVIL ENERGY again next time I need AN hoses. I am sold on PTFE and will never do the old style for fuel ever again!

Working on my 1971 Chevy C10 pickup. Ran this tubing from the gas tank relocated to the back of the truck to the fuel rail and from my transmission to the radiator and back. The tubing was very easy to work with and looks awesome. I have not had the truck running to see if it leaks, but it looks good.
