Well made, quality piece. I was gifted a mundial knife set many years ago and was bummed when I lost the scissors in a move. I was worried these would not compare to the quality of the originals 20 years ago but was pleasantly surprised! These are great, I will be purchasing another set for another block I have.

Around 25 years ago, I purchased a Mundial 9 piece knife block which included these kitchen shears. While the knives were okay, the shears (or scissors) were quite incredible. They got used on everything, from food to packaging to envelopes...whatever needed to be cut open, basically. And not once did I sharpen them or even have a need to do so! I purchased a Global knife set - which did not include kitchen shears - a few years ago and the Mundial knives were then surplus to requirements. However, the Mundial scissors remained our go-to tool for cutting in the kitchen. And because I sold the Mundial knife set with the original set of shears (to make it a complete set), I just had to get myself another set of these for ongoing use. The new scissors are virtually no different to the ones that came in the set 25 years ago, with the only obvious exception being a slightly darker shade of red used for the plastic logo in the middle of one of the blades. The scissors function exactly as the old set and feel no sharper than their 25 year old counterparts. That just exemplifies how incredibly durable these things are. Washing these scissors is easy because the two blades can be detached simply by just opening them up fully and lifting them away from one another. They don't contain intricate grooves or elements that need special washing tools either. You can use a sponge or a scrubbing brush. We love these scissors and cannot recommend them enough.
