So far, so good (it's only been a day though)
I bought this particular charge for the following reasons: (1) The 3-year warranty. I didn't want to spend this much to charge my PHEV quickly and have it crap out after a year (and negate gas savings I might get with the ability to quickly charge between trips). Even the main car-branded versions only have a 3-year warranty and they are near $700. (2) I read too many reviews about some of the cheaper chargers melting, needing constant replacement, overcharging, etc. I didn't see any of those stories for this product and I didn't need it to be portable. (3) The price is considerably cheaper than the car-branded manufacturers, but all the features seem comparable (and going with some of the more cheap options worried me about quality). I personally don't need any of the neat features this thing has (as I don't have any high-cost charging times). But again, I bought it as a 'middle of the road' on price and hopefully, quality. It is cool though that it has various amperage capabilities. (4) The company is HQ'd in Colorado as opposed to other countries (even if the product isn't produced in the US). --------------------------------------- I had zero problems with installation setup using a 40AMP circuit 14-50R I installed myself in the garage. Instructions are clear, packaging is good, the unit is unblemished. As the instructions mention, you need to interface this with your phone which I also had zero problems setting up (on a Pixel 5). I downloaded the app as I sat next to it (after plugging it in), it found the device fine, updated its firmware, and I setup the options (like amperage). Boom - easy, works, no complaints. The box-to-outlet cable is about 2' long (whereas it looks like earlier versions of the product were super short) so that isn't a concern either. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is the possibility of offering a non-smart version of this for a little less money that may put it even in a sweeter spot (and make the folks think twice when they are thinking about getting one of the cheaper competitor's chargers).

Excellent value for money!
After a lot of research on YouTube I went ahead and got this one. I use it to charge my Audi e-tron for about 2 months now WITHOUT a single issue. Mine is installed inside my garage but it is rated to sit outside in all weathers. The WIFI capability is also really handy and you can see at a glance how much you have spent just charging your car. (Not that this is anything to do with any charger but approximately 2000 miles cost just less than $100) so its for me anyway, fun to see how much gas I'm not buying and polluting with! Because my unit is plugged in to a suitable wall socket, as opposed to having it hardwired directly into the breaker panel, I'm getting 9.6KW pretty much at all times according to the display in the car. Hardwired, it will go to 11KW but to be honest I don't need anything n greater than what I'm getting now. I was using the Audi supplied charger but it was downrated to charge at 50% of its capacity so having a dedicated Level 2 charger at home just made perfect sense. Plus the cable is 24ft long which means I can charge a vehicle on the driveway from the back wall of the garage, really useful! For the price, and having used it plenty in the last couple of months I can fully recommend it and wonder why you would want or need to spend double the money for the same performance. Check out the review videos online as this Emporia comes out very well. If you have the NEMA 14-50 fitted on your wall already, this unit will plug straight in out of the box and have you charging immediately. The installation of the unit to the wall was straight forward and the instructions where really easy to follow, just be mindful of where you position the unit in relation to the NEMA socket as this cable is a bit shorter than expected. See my attached photo... Overall I think this is a fantastic value from a product with a great reputation...

Great EV charger here!
Perfect in every way! I am not sure how this model could be improved upon. The installation is simple, the WiFi connects easily and reliably, the app is well-designed and very useful. Fantastic!

Works great
Charges at the full 40 amps with a 50 amp plug. (20% headroom for safety). Cord is very long and is able to reach even in you don't park very close. The app is very easy to use and convenient, it even has a breakdown of how much I spend each day on electric. Definitely one of the best chargers out there. The only thing I would change is that I wish the charger had a place to set the plug to protect it from rain and snow without having to put the cover on every time.

Good charger for the price and features
Had to replace my JuiceBox charger when it stopped charging, likely due to a software issue, since the stupid company stopped supporting their products in the US. This charger was highly rated in several places, and it was about the cheapest of the decent chargers. Cable length is as long as you'll find (about 25 ft). I wish the cable management was part of the unit like my old charger. This one comes with a separate plastic thing, and it takes up more wall space (which I don't have) so I have to just hang part of the cable over the charger. The plug feels a bit cheaper than the JuiceBox or ChargePoint I've used, but it functions fine. Hopefully it holds up since you can't just replace the cable. The app is ok so far. Meant for a lot more functions than I need. I set it to start my charging at 11:30 PM. For some reason, when I plug in, it starts charging immediately. If I pause it, it then says it will start at 11:30. That's annoying, but there might be a different setting I need to find.

After reading and watching multiple reviews online I decided to buy the Emporia. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it works fine no issues at all. First I like the look of it but most importantly it’s well built, good quality, installation options (NEMA14-50 or Hardwired), easy to install, up to 48A, good price and the app is super easy to use. I had it installed hardwired by my electrician to get the maximum amperage from my charger. The amperage can easily be adjusted using the app from 12A to 48A by 4A increments depending on your circuit breaker. Connecting my Charger to my wifi literally took seconds. Compared to other chargers this charger gives you more charging amps at an excellent price. Also, if you loose power during the night and power comes back this Emporia will restart automatically charging your car which is not the case with some other brands that need to be reprogrammed and restarted. So no surprise in the morning when you’re ready to go to work. I’m so happy with my purchase, delivery was fast. I highly recommend the EV Charger!!

When purchasing our EV we did fairly extensive reviewing of home level 2 chargers. The Emporia fit the bill for us given the options of connections and installation for either 40 or 48 amp and provides charging speed of 9-9.5 kwh so takes 4-5 hrs to charge approx for us to 80%, the reviews at the time, and reasonably priced for what you get. It has not disappointed and worked well from the first charge and still going strong reliably. The App is not fancy but adequate and gives the settings options that are needed and provides data and info that is practical No regrets with our purchase and would recommend to others.

What I dislike are the 8 screws that are installed on the back side over the face plate. At a $105 an hour the electrician took 15 minutes to install all 8 screws... I personally think this is a design flaw. It should have been two top clips and one or two screws at the bottom of the front panel. Simple and easy to install! The installation went well... The overall price and quality are a good valve . Only time will tell if it was a good buy .IF it breaks I have to ,take it apart and send it to the company, and wait for them to repair ev charger.
