Love this mortar and pestle set. Actually purchased this several years ago. Bought this to replace a small marble one that was rather useless for anything more than a tablespoon. I mainly use the larger bowl, but it is nice to have the option of the shallow side. The silicon placemat is a great accessory to protect counter tops.

Worth it! I really liked it, very sturdy & perfect size. Easy to use, clean, good weight. Granite gives a traditional, timeless aesthetic. Looks great on my kitchen countertop. The rough surface on the inside is great, it helps crush and grind efficiently without ingredients slipping around, especially garlic, ginger, cumin and peppercorns, etc.

This is an expensive mortar and pestle but performance is so good you soon forget the price and enjoy the quality of a product that will last a lifetime. The mortar has two sides one shallow and the other deeper and the pestle has two ends one with a wider head, so can be used for making pastes or just grinding down spices etc. It comes with a rubber mat to protect a work surface and allows the mortar to be held confidently.

Awesome mortar and pestle. Well made. Heavy duty. The rubber mat is a perfect addition.
