The Art of Alessandro Biffignandi

Love this artist. Glad I was able to grab this when it was on sale for my coffee table.

This book is FANTASTIC! Im a huge fan of Biffignandi and I was thrilled when I found out the guys at Korero Press were putting together a collection. And they really did an amazing job! Beautifully reprduced illustrations and filled with extra drawings and behind the scenes photos and background onfo. This book and its companion book (The Taglietti volume) are two of my favorite books I own now. Very highly recommended!- William

Great book, well made, great quality image reproduction. My only quibble is that inset B&W photos of the the original nude models are censored. Pretty ridiculous considering the adult nature of these art books.

A very good collection of this artist's horror covers. Delightfully gruesome and graphic. Delivered quickly and packaged securely.

I collect these books. All are tributes to some super talented artists and the Genre may be dated but art is eternal!

More masterfully lurid cover paintings from Italian pulp comics of the 70's and 80's. Biography of the artist, covers grouped according to the title they were done for, quality production. Don't miss the previous/companion book, "Sex and Horror: The Art of Emanuele Taglietti"!

I love this book, and the first book in the series featuring the works of Taglietti. These books collect the best of what the 1970s and 80s horror fumetti have to offer, considering the interior art is not worth remembering. But the covers in this book, by Biffignandi, are just amazing. Not for children or the squeamish, this book is nonetheless a beautiful tribute.

70年代から80年代、イタリアン・ホラー、マカロニアクションなどと言われるイタリア産娯楽映画がＢ級映画シーンを席巻した時代があった。我が国には少し遅れてビデオ普及時代に大量に紹介され、レンタルビデオ店の棚をあざといまでのエロと残酷趣味ムキ出しのパッケージで彩った作品群。その原色のパッケージアートに胸を高鳴らせ、「なんかスゴそう」と借りては内容のショボさに後悔する・・・・そんなアホな青春の日々（笑）を送った方にオススメ。 実は映画のポスターアートではなく、当時イタリアで人気のあった "Sexy fumetti" というアダルトコミック群のカバーイラストをイラストレーターごとにまとめた画集がこの「SEX AND HORROR」シリーズ。表紙に巻数表示がなく、背表紙にのみ「２」の表示があるのでわかりにくいが、これはその第2巻「ALESSANDRO BIFFIGNANDI」集ということになる。ちなみに第1巻「EMANUELE TAGLIETTI」集は現在アマゾン洋書部門ではプレミアム付きの中古しかない模様（AMAZON USAなら通常価格で手に入ります）。 日本的な雑誌連載形式ではなく、新聞雑誌スタンドで1話単位のバラ売りパルプコミック、"small puffs of smoke"と言うから特に語るに足る本編内容はなきに等しく、手っ取り早く表紙イラストでバーンと人目を引けるかどうかが勝負、というあたりも同時期のイタリア娯楽映画と通底するように思う。 個人的には第1巻「EMANUELE TAGLIETTI」の方がパチもん臭さとキッチュなユーモアのイタリアン・トラッシュ感横溢で好みだが、こちらもエロ＆怪奇では負けていない。図版220枚以上、モデル資料写真数枚を除く全てがフルカラー、そのほとんどが１枚１ページの大判で、画集として文句なしの満足度。
