I bought this OnePlus 9 to replace my old OnePlus 5T which has gone on solidly for more than 4 years. I'm a massive fab of OnePlus already, so I'm not at all surprised at how great this new model is. I actually only replaced the old phone because the camera wasn't up to modern standards and I wanted something sharper, other than that it's working like the day I bought it. The OnePlus 9 is a great phone at a great price, has all the tech you'd expect out of a new model. The camera is a vast improvement from older models, although I'm sure not quite on a par with the latest Samsung or iphone, you get what you pay for and this phone is literally HALF the price, so I'm very happy. It's fast, responsive and built well. It charges so quickly, a full battery in about 30mins (probably faster, I actually haven't timed it!). I use the phone quite a lot throughout the day and so far haven't even got below 50% charge by the end of the day. I love that they throw in a case too, and a screen protector pre-fitted so you're ready to go straight out the box. I actually really like the free silicone case and will be keeping it. The main thing I LOVE about OnePlus is they make phones that last. I don't want my battery dying after 18mths of use, forcing me to spend more money on a new phone. It's wasteful and expensive. I'm hoping this model lasts me another 4 years like my last one!

I had a Pixel 5 that I was very happy with, but it developed a fault. Contacted Amazon and they had no stock to replace it, so they just completely refunded the phone (Amazon CS rocks again). Wondering what to replace it with, or whether to pick up a Pixel 5 elsewhere, I stumbled on this. I've been pondering OnePlus phones for a while, but the cameras were their weak point. However the reviews said the 9 series with their Hasselblad link closed that gap. But I should say, I haven't tested the camera yet. I've only had the phone 2 days, but the simple fact is, it's blown me away. I like everything about it (well, almost everything - the fingerprint sensor is a little finicky, but I think it's just a matter of developing the muscle memory that suits the phone). I like the flat screen - curved edges are just an irritation. I like the size of the screen (which I admit I missed a bit on the Pixel 5). I absolutely love the user interface; one reason I stuck with Pixel phones is the clean, 'pure Android' interface. OnePlus have their own version of Android (OxygenOS) but it is equally smooth, fast, clean and clear of bloat. It feels as good as a Pixel interface. It's incredibly fast - way faster than the Pixel 5, which was always smooth and hitch free. I was surprised I could feel the difference - I had no complaints - but this is definitely faster. 120hz screen makes for really smooth scrolling. OnePlus even chuck in a case to get you going and today I realised they have also fitted a screen protector! One hated job that won't need doing. (The fairly ugly case I have already replaced though.) The battery life isn't quite up to the Pixel 5, I think, though it's hard to be sure because obviously a new phone gets used a lot as you're setting everything up. Even so, it's clear that it will comfortably last more than a day - maybe 2 - in normal use. Just everything about this phone gives me a sense of pleasure in using it. I had serious misgivings about not just replacing my loved Pixel 5 with another one, but I am delighted with the OnePlus 9. And for its price bracket, it is very good value for the money.

Going from a OnePlus 6, I moved onto my 3rd OnePlus phone on release day this year and I have to say, it still meets all of my expectations. Earlier in the year I purchased an 8 pro that unfortunately, did not live up to the OnePlus I had loved and yes every phone has it's floors but I thought I would give it one more chance. I love the OS more than any others I have used and for that the phone gets a great review from me. I could list everything great but I would be here for a while so I want to port out a factor for people to be wary of. With the new 888 comes some overheating. I spend a lot of time on video calls but if I want to do something on the phone at the same time then it starts to overheat. I have not found it to do this whilst doing anything else but it is something to be wary of, it does sort itself out everytime but maybe google this issue if you are at all wary before purchasing. As much as I also believe that OnePlus is moving away from the company I fell in love with with the OnePlus 3, but I do believe this phone is a step back in the correct direction after the 8.
