I have two businesses and am the treasurer of our HOA so needless to say I have a lot of annual files to keep. I used to pick up these expanding files at the local office supply store where they want an arm, a leg, and a first-born child to pay for them. Then I found these on Amazon basics for way, way less and they are every bit as functional! You get a two-pack, and I wait for Black Friday sales when they are even cheaper and stock up! In the pack I got, one is black and the other gray, and every year I put my monthly business receipts and statements in one of these by month. For the HOA I have them sorted another way but have plenty of spaces to cover all the categories of records. They fit 8.5 x 11 records, they come with the little tabs to slide in so you can label each section. They are strong and durable and have an elastic band to close them up (but I wrap the lid around and secure it with the elastic so they sit open on my desk ready for filing at any time!). These will protect your papers and store them neatly and since it's plastic, a spill of your coffee or giant Stanley full of water will not affect your papers! These are almost too nice to file away each year., When I get to the 7-year mark for my records, I fully plan to just empty the oldest one, toss the contents, and reuse them. These will last a long time. So don't overpay at an Office supply store - stick with Amazon Basics to get the job done inexpensively without sacrificing quality.

I was in need of a filing folder for a while now and it seemed like every office I went too didn't have what I was looking for - considering on how many papers and bills needed to be divided, organized and labeled in their own slot. Then I found this beauty and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I love how now everything is neatly separated and organized and I can easily find any important document I'm looking for and the opening and closing this folder is super easy and durable. I definitely recommend if you need something durable with lots of filing space.

We’ve used several expanding file folders over the years for organizing documents, and this Amazon Basics is affordable and practical. Compared to other brands, it offers more pockets at a lower price, which was the main reason we gave it a try. The colored label tabs are nice—they make it easy to categorize sections at a glance and keep things neat without much extra effort. Functionally, it gets the job done. We use ours for long-term storage of infrequently accessed paperwork, and in that context, it works well. It doesn't take up much space, and the lightweight build makes it easy to store or slide into a drawer. That said, there are a couple of trade-offs to be aware of. First, the material does feel a bit thinner than higher-end options, so I wouldn’t recommend it for daily or heavy-duty use. If you're constantly in and out of it, it may start to show wear. Also, while it does expand, each pocket has limited give, so if you plan to load it with thicker stacks of paper, it may feel a bit restrictive. Lastly, it's worth noting that the price has increased recently, which makes it a little less of a no-brainer than it once was—but still a better deal than most brick-and-mortar store options. In short, this is a good buy for basic organization needs, especially if you handle it gently and value functionality over premium build quality.

This is a cheap file organizer that's made decently and has what I need to keep myself organized. I travel for my job, so I like to keep highly organized so I don't have issues come tax season. I bought this many times and it is strong enough to last and cheap enough to work with my budget.

It seems to be very sturdy product. I was looking for an expandable 12-month tabbed file. However, this just has blank plastic tabs which are not easy to print the months on.

Excellent design as it expands at the bottom as well as the top. External materials are strong, internal seem sturdy. I've been working on better organisation of important papers etc, this is perfect. Getting 2 for this price is unbelievable.

PICTURES ATTACHED Pros: 1. The best thing about this is that it's a combo of two folders of grey and black folder. 2. The quality of the build shows that it can withstand office style use for a long period of time, probably years. 3. There is no unnecessary design or space blockage. Its sober and elegant enough to be taken to office or meeting. 4. Its mentioned that it's best suited for letter size, which is true but A4 works with this equally well except when there are large number of A4 in a single compartment. 5. The compartments of this folder are expandable because of the very design of the product, as visible in the pic. Hence, a large number of Paperwork can be organised within the folder. 6. Its extremely useful for organising and storing paper work in such a way so as to make them easily procure-able during the times of need. 7. Coloured tags are provided in the folders for easy tagging of each compartment. 8. Pen, pencil, erase, ruler and paper clips, etc. can also be easily stored in the folder. 9. The product has withstood six months of intensive use with ease. I guess its durable enough to last a few years. It wouldn't be a surprise if you also benefit with this purchase just the way i did.
