I have very sensitive skin, every other shave butter I tried caused acne. This feels like facial cream, countering any discomfort and has a very mild but pleasant scent While not the most slippery butter I have used it does extend blade life vs a foaming shave gell and you use far less. Use lots of water with the butter.

I received this as a Christmas gift in my stocking. Almost thought of it as a novelty (at first). I'm not a little shaver any more, I am an older shaver. Skin is thinner and more sensitive. Shave cream often left me with a rash and/or itchy skin. I found this shaving butter to be just the ticket for me. Won't be going back to shave cream. You use a small amount. At first I probably used too much, thought it should be like shave cream. Quickly realized it wasn't the same. Now use a small amount with good results. No more itchy, irritated skin. You just rub in any that is left over into your skin. This helps immensely if you have sensitive skin. Good value for the money. Just bought some more. Wish I knew about this sooner for my dad who suffered enough that he stopped shaving, grew a beard.
