I know it says indoor use only, but has anyone tried this product for outdoor use? I'm wanting a large outdoor chalkboard for the backyard.

We used this paint on large wooden Christmas trees (we used the green chalkboard paint) where we wanted to change the message frequently. They have been outside in all kinds of weather - snow, rain, ice, sun for approximately 6 weeks for the past 3 years (during the Christmas season). No sign of having to repaint.

Can we use chalk marker pens on this as opposed to chalk itself?

Just found a work-around! You can use a sealer to make a porous chalkboard non-porous (or to lock in a sign that you don't want to change). I found this info on the Crafty Crock (who sells the liquid markers, so it makes sense that they'd have solutions. Here's what they say:"In either case, we recommend using either In either case, we recommend using either Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray or if you prefer a matte finish, then Aleene's Spray Acrylic Sealer Matte Finish will work well. Apply 3 coats of sealer if you are sealing a porous surface so that you can easily erase your chalk markers in the future. A single coat should do if you are sealing over top of your chalk markers so they can't be erased. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions on the spray can. or if you prefer a matte finish, then Aleene's Spray Acrylic Sealer Matte Finish will work well. Apply 3 coats of sealer if you are sealing a porous surface so that you can easily erase your chalk markers in the future. Had anyone used this on plastic? I'm wanting to paint a Tikes playhouse (interior).

I have actually on a plastic kitchen set (smooth) and an activity table (texture) with two coats everything has held up no problem. This is about a year since I applied it.

I have a small hobby paint sprayer. Is there any reason this couldn't be used in a sprayer? Is it too thick, or is the brush an important part?

We used it with a paint sprayer. If you use a brush, use a good brush as you don't want brush marks.

This chalkboard paint works really well. It goes on smoothly, dries evenly, and turns my wall into a usable chalkboard. My kid loves drawing on it. It wipes clean easily and doesn’t leave a mess. Very happy with this purchase!

Great chalk paint! Goes on easy, looks nice, works well. Easy wipe off when you want to make changes after chalk is applied. Stays on great even when water is applied to remove colored chalks. I've used it inside and out and both areas still look great after chalk and weather use.
