Population One: Autism, Adversity, and the Will to Succeed Review: This is a wonderful book. Read it! - Tyler McNamer has written a book that I beleive is truely inciteful. He has given us a thorough look into the world as he sees it, but I think he has also, maybe unintentionally, shown us how he also misunderstands the world as most of us see it. Like when he talks about school spirit. When I was growing up and in school, we heard of school spirit, but that was just something the teachers and cheerleaders talked about at pep rallies. I don't remember a single friend who ever thought about it or talked about it beyond that. For McNamer, school spirit is a real thing, and it is immportant to him. My eyes were opened to the mind of someone with autism and I think McNamer has written a wonderful book that I would hope many, many people will read. There are a couple of times where I think he was a little braggadocious or even arrogant, but I don't think he meant it that way. I think this was just an honest, open, description of his life and how he thinks. This is a wonderful book. Read it! Review: Incredibly informative - Great examination of folks functioning on the Autism spectrum

Autism is understandable.
I found this a very interesting read since it is a first person narrative explaining the ideas, feelings, actions and abilities of a young man with autism. It gave me an understanding I did not have before. I think it is a great book to read for anyone who knows someone with autism. I also think it would be a good book to read with some and to discuss it while reading it, particularly parents with their autistic child. This may help both to articulate their feelings, fears, and ways to handle any problem.

Interesting Book
I liked this book and chose it because I work with students having autism. It increased by insight into these special kiddos. It is a little disjointed to read but a great effort by the author.

Thank you Tyler
Myra and I received our copies of your wonderful book this morning, for me it was hard to put your book down to order 5 more copies. I plan, no I WILL hand deliver them to our grandsons school and to another school where a last year teacher had transferred { who had made such effort, honest ,caring effort in the success of not just one but all his students] We are so proud of you and are so much looking forward to the next BRILLIANT CHAPTER in the journeys of your life. I have not even finished your book yet but the way you explain things really puts things together in my mind on ways to reach out to gifted souls. THANK YOU TYLER

The text itself is fabulous; however, the the bottom fourth of the cover is separted. wrinkled.
The scientist's story is compelling. The writing is quite good overall. He goes back and forth chronologically, sometimes unnoticeable, sometimes not as effective. The cover was and is the problem. Is it possible to get another copy of the book without a charge? I would like to keep it in my library.

What goes on inside the head of an Autistic person?
I bought this book for my 19 yo autistic grandson and the ebook for myself. Tyler writes exactly as he thinks and the book will help you understand how he thinks in relation to someone without autism. That is exactly why I purchased this book. It is helping me understand my precious grandson more than I ever have. He is such a wonderful gift to me as is Tyler"s very special book. Tyler has more than earned the price of his book. It's a good read!

I bought this book because I have an autistic grandson. The young man who wrote this book is amazing and helps me to know that my grandson who is already amazing will continue to grow and become successful as well. Thank you for sharing your story ❤️
