Great Combination
There are surely thousands of cases available for the iPad. The most popular size, 9.7”, definitely has more cases than any other. Now let me touch on one thing first please, The Screen Protector is certainly the other most widely purchased item. The reason I bring this up is, well... compatibility. You surely have seen many cases advertising “screen protector friendly.” Friendly? Are they serious? As if two inanimate items could be friendly towards each other is a joke! It is nothing more than a selling point. More people with cases previously purchased can feel at ease knowing this. Yeah right... No. Not one bit! You will need to make a decision here. Case or Screen Protector. In some rare situations you can use both. Here‘s he problem...Do you want to slap a $7 dream sold to you as a piece of glass like film on your $700 exquisite iPad, iPad Pro or iPad Air? This is guaranteed. You will find that all the research and development that went into designing the Corning Glass Version for your iPad immediately gets thrown out the window. Some of these protectors are really bad. I mean fingerprint dirty, sluggish touch travel and horrific responsiveness. Remember this please: The screen is how you will always interact with your iPad. There will be some times when a bt keyboard is used which is fine, as long as the Keyboard a Case fits for your iPad version. If the case starts to lift the glass, starting at the corners, it will surely frustrate you! All of this leads me back o the original item under review, The Targus 3D Apple iPad Pro (9-7-Inch) Tablet Case Cover. It’s a true gem! It is NOT screen protector friendly. It does however provide great all around protection along with the screen when not in use. The corners and back are well protected. I love how weightless this case feels. As a truly unique feature, the sound From the onboard speaker’s does get amplified directly from the case design. It is an advertised selling point that actually works! Minimalistic yes, but is that not a main reason why we love our iPads? The case has many great viewing angles too. An extra benefit is the closure strap with magnetic design. This is a great security feature that will no doubt make you feel secure too. The material is very grippy all around. That makes holding the iPad easy and secure. How many times have some of us fallen asleep while using our iPads? Is not that unusual. You won’t drop it very easily. This Targus 3D case is also very lightweight. A feature I left for last. For me, It helped greatly make the decision of using that screen protector previously discussed more important or the use of this Targus 3D case being reviewed. This a lovely, handsome, quality well made case. It will go a very long way too! Take it anywhere. Keep the screen protected when you are not using it with the clasp. Thank you for taking your time reading my review. In the end we are right back where we began. Full circle. The screen on the iPad is amazing. It is meant to be touched. It’s smooth responsive design is amazing. I would take the Targus 3D case over a screen protector any day, all day. Your investment deserves more. Safe, secure handling is at the top of the list. A functional, unique folio case from Targus, a leader in the industry that works so well is truly an amazing find! At this price it’s much more... Run, don’t walk to your Amazon account and grab one or two while it is still available at this price point. It will not stay this way very long, I assure you. The Targus 3D case is well thought out and designed. Technology only available to us today makes this happen. It deserves a home on your iPad, you will discover. Thank you for your time!

The Best Case for Most Uses; Edit
I've had this case for 1 year 5 months, with no signs of deterioration. I still give it a 5, but some notes: 1. It is heavy, 10 oz, a considerable addition to the 16 oz of an Ipad Air 2. 2. I haven't taken it apart, but the weight and inflexibility suggest there is steel inside the rubber. It's too heavy, even for aluminum. 3. It's quite a load, but compared to any other case on the market, it provides protection against not just drops, but impacts. There doesn't appear to be another case that fully covers the screen when closed, yet has anti-shock construction. 4. The polyurethane rubber is solid, not blown, which also adds to the weight. Some alternative cases have multiple layers, alternating soft/hard, which may provide better shock protection -- provided nothing hits the screen. If I found one that incorporates a flip-over screen cover, I probably would have bought it instead. 5. This case is unique in the absence of extraneous openings, like a hole in the back to show an Apple logo. When closed, it is almost completely buttoned up. 6. I hold the iPad in my hands over hard floors. This case is almost ideal for roughneck usage, but a little heavy for gentle users. This is largely dependent on whether exposure of the fragile screen, or protection from edge drops, is important to you. ------------------------------------------------------ A little background. I won an Ipad Air 2 as a beta tester. I am not an "Apple person." I prefer the greater individual choice of Android/Microsoft. I've noticed that many Apple owners, entranced by the physical qualities of Apple devices, are reluctant to "cover up" an Apple device with something actually protective. Hence the market is flooded with attractive, revealing folio cases that have negligible protective value. I'm immune to that. If I'm in a place without a rug, like a train or public space, I don't want survival of my gadgets to depend upon vigilance alone. The Ipad, with glass reaching to within 1 millimeter of the edges and corners, is a disaster waiting to happen. So my choice was between a heavy duty shock case, like an Otterbox or Pelican, a worthless folio case, or the Targus. This is not quite the equivalent of a heavy duty case, but it makes an effort. A heavy duty shock case is made of two materials in a way that adds bulk, a hard outer shell, and a softer inner liner. But lacking screen covers, most of those cases offer no protection to n-the-bag hazards, like keys that scratch the screen. The Otterbox is an exception, but it adds tremendous bulk, and attaching/removing the screen cover is an operation. The Targus has all the convenience of a folio case, but like a heavy duty shock case, it is made of two materials. The soft material, polyurethane, is on the outside. Structural polyurethane is a premium plastic, used in machine shops for jigs. The structural stiffness is provided by the inner layer, a polyurethane/polycarbonate compound. The cover latch is a flap, containing a magnet, that folds over to the back of the case, much more secure than a magnetic latch that does not fold over. This case is rated by Targus to U.S. military standsard MIL-STD-810G, equivalent to a 4 foot drop onto concrete. From my examination, there is no reason to doubt this. It is not equivalent to a heavy duty shock case, such as an Otterbox, but it is actually practical for everyday use.Since it has an integral screen cover, a screen protector is not required. It will still fit in my bag, it fully protects from scratches, it adds as little extra bulk and weight as possible, and it is as convenient to use as a folio case.

You Won’t Find A Better Case. Period.
I’ve purchased, used and reviewed more iPad cases than I care to remember. But the style I found myself returning to was the TARGUS 3D Protection Case (THZ635GL). This case is by far the best case I’ve ever used. Unlike the many other cases I’ve tried getting used to, I have yet to feel any need to remove this case off of my iPad. It’s absolutely my favorite. I could go into how durable and well designed the case and it’s material are, and I could go on and on about features being unmatched by any other case. But instead I’ll merely say you’ve struck gold in stumbling across this iPad case, because this case will meet your needs guaranteed! I can only hope that TARGUS continues supporting the newer gen iPads yet to come with this particular design of impressive case. Unreal quality. If you couldn’t tell already, I’m quite pleased.

Sturdy iPad case
High quality and durable. It does helped protecting both the edges and the screen of the iPad for minor drop. Just a little bit heavier than I expected but it is highly recommended for those who need a sturdy iPad case

Ideal iPad case
The Targus iPad case fits my iPad Pro securely and offers great protection. It is lightweight and keeps the iPad easy to use at almost any angle of setup. My grandson liked mine so I got another for him. He said it works far better than others he’s had. We both like the speaker cutouts because it seems to direct sound to the front enhancing listening by the user.
