Improved espresso extraction

This IMS competition basket is built to fit post millennium La Pavoni Lever machines but it will also fit the Gaggia Factory G106 & G105 that are essentially La Pavoni machines with some style changes. I've used this basket for 6 months and it is rated for 14-16 grams, I use 20 grams for a nice ristretto. I do have to use a dosing ring as in the pictures to get that extended amount in before it's tamped but as the photo's show, there is still plenty of head volume left for water once it's tamped and in the machine. After 6 months I haven't had any holes plug up, a rinse of water every day has kept it clean and except for a few scratches from being pulled in and out of the basket hold etc it's as good as new. The holes are very consistent with no lips, burs or tear outs to be seen, the walls and base are very sturdy and all the edges are nicely rounded including the top edge which is ground smooth. All in all, I'm very with this IMS backet, it's a nice addition to my Lever machine that I've been using for 23+ years now and it still pulls a better shot than most of the top end cafe's. This little IMS basket helped with consistency, and that is key to great espresso.

Works OK with Picopresso. Difference in brew quality between the original basket and this one in my view is not huge).

I ordered this for my Picopresso. It fits well and makes a significant difference in taste.

First shot out of this new basket and I am thrilled by the difference. A different flavour profile and clean taste.A worthwhile upgrade.
