If you don't have steering wheel buttons and do have an android based aftermarket head unit, this is an excellent choice. You might have to do some trial and error with the wires but once figured out it does exactly what you want it to.

Perfect! If you don’t want to being changing batteries buy a 12v to 3.3v step down and get it solder on the batteries terminals inside the controller.

Zero actual instructions from the manufacturer and no means of installing. Won't connect and there is no diagram from joying to fit it to their radio.

I recently purchased this product, and I'm mostly satisfied with it. Seven out of the eight buttons work perfectly, which is great. However, I did encounter an issue with the left spinning button, as it's not working as expected. Despite this, the product was incredibly easy to install, and once it's working, it functions well.

As the title says, it doesn't look or feel cheap, feels like premium, buttons are pretty crips when pressed so if the central rotary wheel when turned. Don't have steering wheel buttons so I got it in order to use it on an Eonon UA12S+, was recognized by the HU without a hitch so setup was a snap, customizing the buttons was a breeze. Only problem that I have is the "lag" when turning the central rotary wheel and when I say "lag" I mean the fact that if I turn the wheel at a normal rate, normal to me at least, the volume (for which the wheel is set to) will not change at the same rate. So for instance if I turn the wheel 4-5 "clicks" , the HU volume will only change 1 or 2. On the other hand if I turn the central rotary wheel slow, like 1 click per second, the HU will change the volume accordingly. Since I don't have a different Android HU to test it, not sure who's to blame. Anyways for $20 is a terrific value,

It does not work very well my my Chinese Android head unit. I primarily wanted to use it as a physical volume control and it miss steps the volume if you turn it too slow and does a delayed over increase of the volume if you turn it too fast. Some buttons like "answer" and "hang up", only work when you are in a specific screen. I expect that this probably works correctly with a Joying head unit.

I bought this product because I had installed an aftermarket radio that did not have a volume knob. I also do not have steering wheel controls. Buying this controller was so worth it, and looks to be the best thing on the market for aftermarket steering wheel controllers, but I wish it was better made. To start, setting this up was pretty easy. If you've installed an aftermarket radio WITH STEERING WHEEL CONTROL SUPPORT, then this should be child's play. JUst set the box up behind your radio back, tap into your ground and accessory wires (should be labeled on your radio wires/in your manual), and then connect to your stereo's KEY 1 wire. Then you need to go into your radio's settings and map each button on the controller to a steering wheel control on the radio. Now, as far as functionality goes, it works, but a little weird. Firstly, I can't map all the buttons on my controller for some reason. If I try and do more than 6 controls, all of my mappings reset on the radio. A little weird, maybe I wasn't trying hard enough, but I just opted to not use the call buttons. Muting, pausing, playing, and skipping all works (with android auto at least), and does so with little latency. The other quirk is volume. Since this controller is acting as "steering wheel controls", there aren't volume knobs on steering wheel controls. That means the volume knob doesn't really act like a volume knob. If you turn the knob very fast, not every click on the knob registers. You need to slowly turn the knob so that the radio can keep up. If you want to adjust the volume quickly, you need to slowly turn the volume knob at a consistent pace, which the radio will recognize as "holding" the volume button down. Again, a little strange, but you get used to it, and it's CERTAINLY better than actually using the buttons on your radio. The build quality leaves a lot to be desired. Cheap plastic, what do you expect? It does have a rubber layer around the portion that sticks into your cup holder, which holds mine in place quite good. I've also noticed that in colder weather, the controller has glitched out on me a couple times when I first start my car. NOt sure if that behavior will continue. tl;dr, it works, but it has its quirks like the volume knob behaving more like a button, build quality, and me not being able to map every button. But unfortunately, it looks to be the best thing on the market.
