Best slimline iPhone 4s case in the market
Probably one of the most complicated aspects to buying a mobile phone these days is not the phone itself or even the price plan, but rather finding a decent case to protect your expensive but brittle kit. So having invested £500, I started shopping around for the following specifications.1. Protection: strong enough to protect the phone from an impact2. Slimline: slim enough to be pocketable, and fit in my armband wallet3. Dockability: easy to dock4. Access to Phone Functions: without obstructionThere are plenty of phones in the market but few of them do all these things. Let's cover each in order:1. ProtectionI wanted something that offers a decent protection from normal shocks. I'm not a very rough & tumble person, so I don't need to carry the iphone case equivalent to a Main Battle Tank in my pocket. For my use, normal shocks mean inadvertant drops onto pavement, etc. The reviews for this phone all suggested that it offers this. Having received it, I'm satisfied that it offers this.2. SlimlineI want to be able to put the phone in my pocket. Some cases are too bulky that you need to clip to a waistband, which in my view is an open invitation to theft or loss. Clips can pry off, and I don't like constantly displaying my brand new iphone for all thieves to see. Having had my Skech case for a week now, I'm satisfied it meets this. I also wanted it to to my iPhone gym armband-wallet without having to de-case. And I was very impressed that it does. Probably unlike any other phone in the market.3. DockabilityOne of the beauties of the iPhone is its compatibility with accessories such as docking ports etc. For example I have an iphone dock on my night stand, so having a case that allows easy access to the docking port without having to de-case. Most other iPhone 4 cases come apart on a seam that runs around the edge. The Skech seems the one case on the market that allows you to remove the lower portion for dockability: it splits laterally, at the lower quarter of the phone - perfect for accessing the docking port. You simply slide off the lower portion, and there you go.4. Access to the phone functionsI quite the slimline design of the phone (as opposed to flips and wallets etc), because it allows easy access to phone functionality. It's simply a lovely bumper around the front, sides and back of the phone. I also quite like the feel of the rubberised material. Smooth and soft but enough grip to prevent it slipping out of your hands.I have only two push-backs on this case.First, if the case offers easy access to the charging port, why still have a cut-out in the lower portion for the charging port? Why not cover that to have the added benefit of protecting the charging port from foreign objects?Second, the lip around the face of the phone needs to be a tiny bit thicker, so that it overlaps the edge of screen protector. Presently there is a 1mm gap between the edge of the screen protector and the inside edge of the bezel. It's infinitesimal, but it's there.

They are brilliant! The hard rubber gives excellent protection if you ...
I have had one of these cases before. They are brilliant! The hard rubber gives excellent protection if you should happen to drop your phone, which I did on a couple of occasions. I also spilt nail polish remover on it, which did leave a mark on the case but the phone was undamaged inside. My phone, even after two years looks as good as new when you take the case off.I go to Spain quite a lot and I have a Spanish simcard that I use when I am there. I swap the simcards over on the plane. This case comes apart in the middle so it is very easy to get to the place in order to change the card without having to entirely remove the case. Really quick and easy. When my iPhone 4s contract came to an end, instead of upgrading to the 5s (at a cost of about £47/month) I decided to go for a sim only deal at £16/month (you can even get them cheaper with other providers). With the savings I made I decided to lash out on another Sketch case in bright pink, which I can easily find in my bag, and a new screen protector. Hey presto! My phone looks as good as new - I am really happy! I would always buy another Sketch case in the future and I can fully recommend them.

Durable, excellent value for money
Used this for over 2 years and protected my phone well - I dropped it a few times.Pros:- Doesn't add much bulk- Matte feel (not slippy)- Raised around the front of the phone slightly (so when you put the phone face down glass won't touch the phone)- Durable - used over 2 years- Offers reasonable drop protectionCons:- After sliding the case bottom on/off a few times, it didn't clip in as well as it used to and the bottom would piece would often slip off. This probably won't be an issue if you just put the case on and leave it, but if you like changing your cases around (or just playing around if bored) a word of warning. Top bit still fit really snuggly but I ended up dropping up and denting a bottom corner so obviously it lowered the protection.- One of the button bits snapped off after a while. Not a major issue as I could still access the button and I suppose this would be the flimsiest bit of the case.- I think this caused my phone to overheat a few times. It likely would have happened without the case (or indeed with any case) but something to watch out for.Overall I'd really recommend this case, I used it for years and it was a solid case. I wish they did one like this for my current iPhone 7!

Practically perfect.
Honestly don't think you can find a better phone protection than these hard skech cases. I have very clumsy hands and am continually dropping, almost throwing, my phone around. Ever since I started using these cases i've never got a scratch on the screen or trouble with the phone operating. My recent simple grey one is visually dull but practically it's perfect. Used for a year before i decided it was too bashed up and sorry looking, am trying another brand but think I'll go back to this one. There's a small flaw though, the base part of the case can start to break a bit if you keep taking it apart (if you need to regularly use a large headphone jack to plug into amps then you probably don't want this case as you'll need to remove the bottom) BUT...even with a small part of the base snapped off, this still protected my phone perfectly.

Will soon be black and blue!
I had a black soft touch case for my iPhone 4 and it was great, so I had no qualms in going for the comparable Skech case for the iPhone 5. However, despite supposedly being made of the same material this one doesn't seem to be as robust or hard-wearing. I've had it for less than six months and it's covered in blemishes - the material flakes too easily, leaving behind highly visible gloss black marks. Shame, the design is good but the blue finish isn't.
