no its easy go to youtube and type replace Mac Book pro ram about 8 screws turn the computer back facing up remove the screws gently lift off back what where the screws come from as a couple are different size the ram very visible with your finger or plastic pointer push over the release and the ram will pop up slide out and do the same to the second chip thats under the first chip install the same way slip in the chip on an angle once its in seat the chip and install the second chip replace the cover and start up it will take a little time for the upgrade for the chips several minutes
