My first impressions were that the unit was a bit smaller than the unit it replaced. This was convenient in terms of saving desk space, but slightly less comfortable in the hand (but I do have fairly large hands).After having gotten used to the size, it was not difficult to use, although because of the smaller ball it was also smaller to run it across the screen. It is still fairly new, so I am still getting used to it, so maybe with time I will probably get more used to some of its quirks, nonetheless, I am already getting more comfortable in its use.

The materials used seem of good quality. The buttons are very well placed and the overal feel is of a ergonomic layout that works. A bit too small for my hand (glove size 8 8.5). Most worst is the gritty feel on the ball. It is very jumpy on quick moves too and a lot depends on how you clean the ball. Bizarly the cleaner it is the rougher it goes. Some times even slightly sweaty hands make it go smoother. Also when applying more than a light touch such as when trying to move pointer fast it gets more gritty and jumps on the bearing balls. If not cleaned for a day and only applying a very light pressure on the ball then seems to run smoother. Still using it due to need and ergonomic shape. I wish the ball would feel smoother. Having said that i did have similar issues with a major brand one too but at much lesser extend.Update: Nov 2023 and I have been using this as my work from home trackball for a while now. After the first few months of use the ball and bearings settled and always runs smoothly now. Very happy with it and looking into buying the larger version as it still feels a bit small for my hands. However the ergonomics are great and no pains at all for all the time i am using it. I changed my rating to 4 stars to reflect.

Real good had one years ago and this is even better when you get used to it

I’m very pleased with this trackball for the price. Downloading the software was difficult as most of the text is in chinese and I wasn’t able to access all the advanced features but as a basic trackball it works well. It doesn’t feel very sturdy but so far so good.

This is my first foray into the world of trackball mice. The product feels to be made out of cheap plastic, but it was not expensive so I can't hold that against it. For my average sized hands it felt a bit too small.But where the mouse completely failed is in the stickiness of the trackball. No chance in hell to make small precise movements. If you need to make any kind of precise adjustments with the mouse forget about this one. Will be returning it promptly.

It's a totally different action to a mouse, but once I was used to it, I thought it was great.

Works great! Only thing that I’d change, is for general computer work this has too many buttons. Probably of use in a gaming situation though.

Da anni utilizzo delle trackball Logitech Trackman Marble, per capirci quelle con la sfera in mezzo e due tasti a lato, per utilizzo con l'indice.Per intrinseci difetti ai micro interruttori devo cambiarla ogni qualche anno d'utilizzo, ma non le avrei mai sostituite con altro.Ultimamente non sono più in produzione o si trovano a cifre impossibili. Quindi mi sono messo alla ricerca di una alternativa.Ebbene questa Elecom Deft, al contrario di alcune recensioni, mi da meno problemi di pulizia della trackball rispetto alla Logitech e mi sono abituato ad essa con sorprendente facilità, tanto che nel pc che ancora ha la Logitech inizio a trovarmi male ad usarla.In più, per chi li usa, ha molti più tasti, cosa che era un punto debole della Logitech che usavo (4 negli ultimi modelli).Insomma assolutamente soddisfatto. Spero duri moltissimo. (è un anno e sottoscrivo ancora tutto)
