Handy to have, reliable, good quality
I would say this is pretty impressive for what it’s intended for. I have bought many Sun Joe products over the last ten years. Reliable, durable, well built…always. I have everything from grass sheers and a mini chainsaw to a power washer that’s now nine years old. They’ve all been terrific. Great warranties, too. I have not had any problems with blades rusting, etc. (where I live…we should be the rubber deterioration/metal corrosion/mold capital of the U.S. 😉) I tried another no-name brand of a hand held power washer similar to this, before I bought this one. Low quality, did nothing. Pathetic, actually. I wanted something that made it easier to do a bit of more direct pressure cleaning, at least a bit more powerful than what my hose nozzle provides, on individual things in the yard. And it’s very cumbersome to drag a regular power washer all over! I wanted something in between the nozzle and a regular power washer. Mind you, I have terrific thumb controlled nozzles on all my hoses with great, strong adjustable sprays, and excellent water pressure. When I realized Sun Joe made one of these handheld power washers, I thought I would give it a try. Realistically, one has to understand that one of these handheld power washers are not in any way capable of the strong blast a regular gas or electric power washer provides. Not only because it is re-chargeable, but it would be quite heavy. Like all Sun Joe products, it has held a charge for a good amount of time. I used it to clean up some of my pavers around the yard for about an hour. Still going strong. It will do a decent job on something like pavers, but you may not get all the really bad mold spots off right away. For a path, walkway or driveway you really need a regular power washer. I live in FL where by Winter everything in the yard looks quite awful and has dark mold on it, especially if it’s concrete and is in the shade for any amount of time. This is very convenient, and it’s nice to be able to just attach it to your hose whenever for a quick, minor cleanup. I had no issue with the connection to the hose, even while moving around a lot. Connections to hoses many times can be a bit quirky, so a bit of leaking isn’t necessarily uncommon. I have three hoses, and in this environment have gone through a lot of them in ten years. With the harsh environment, I’m constantly replacing nozzles and nozzle connectors (they all corrode after just a few weeks or months).

The PERFECT little Grass Trimmer
THIS is my THIRD Sunjoe Grass Trimmer. Why would I need three, you might ask. Well, funny story that I'll get to in a minute. I bought my first SJ in August of 2018. That little thing has gotten a workout. I don't like to get out the big weed whacker for jobs that are around my flowers or delicate plantings. It still works fine. My second SJ was bought to use at our Lakehouse in May of 2019. It also got a workout because the flower beds were looonnnnggggg. We sold that place in 2023 so I brought it home. Yes, it still works. So, why the third? I thought one of my older ones had died. It worked till it just stopped a few weeks ago. Got a little branch in it and I removed that (that happens, no worries) but it would never start again. I put it on the charger overnight but it wouldn't start the next day either. I figured, well, it is 6 years old and in little machine years that is pretty old. So I got out the second one. It worked about 10 minutes, I jammed it on a thick weed, and it wouldn't start back up. WHAT?!!!!! I put it on the charger for a few hours and it still wouldn't start. Again, this one was 5 years old so it is old. I couldn't find anything about what might be wrong on-line so I set about taking one of them apart. I took out all the screws, which was no easy job because they are WAY in there. I didn't see anything wrong. I put it back together. I was going to throw them away but hadn't gotten around to it (thankfully). I order this THIRD one. It arrived quickly. BUT, I was thinking....I want to try to charge the old ones one more time...........I got out the second charger I owned....the oldest SJ showed the RED charging light. It charged. It worked. I plugged in the second one...Same thing. Worked. So, you may ask, WHY didn't I see that the red light wasn't on when using the other old charger? Well, it was in a room with very bright sunlight and I just figured I couldn't see the light because it was so bright in there. (go ahead and roll your eyes) There you have it. Chargers can go bad. Go figure. But here is the thing. I won't send back the newbie. It is like if you have two sweet dogs and you have a chance to adopt another one. It makes you happy. And if I can find a replacement charger I may give one to my sister. So, let's talk about how it works. I am a senior citizen. very senior actually. I have no problem using this or holding the top button and the bottom to make it go......Someone with arthritis in their hands might have problems, but maybe not. I was still able to use it when I had trigger finger in two fingers on my hand with no problems. I tried using the Hedge Trimmer Blade with my first SJ and I was never happy with that. BUT all my shrubs had thicker branches and it just wouldn't go through them. I could do the smaller, new branches on my azalea but it would hit a thicker one and jam. I will give the new one a try. I have given the smaller "grass" blades quite a workout all these years. That little thing goes and goes and I tire out before it does. It doesn't work well in the early morning when the grass and weeds are wet with dew......it works but it doesn't sound happy. It is amazing after the dew dries. I hire someone to do the edging in our 3/4 acre property, but I prefer to take care of the areas around my plantings. I've had too many things whacked down that weren't weeds, (I cried a little when they whacked down my mature calla lillies) so I tell them to leave certain areas to me, and my SunJoe. I put a little 3 in 1 oil on the blades after a workout and run it a few seconds. I clean it off with a cotton hand towel to keep it nice. Clearly these things last a very long time. I can attest they last longer than 6 years with heavy use 2 seasons of the year, and a little use in the Fall in my area... I have recommended the SunJoe Grass and Hedge Trimmer to many of my friends.....those who have purchased one have thanked me. It is a perfect tool for anyone who likes to garden and keep their flower beds looking neat and manicured. It is an absolute necessity for a senior who can't use manual hand tools with ease any longer. THANK you SunJoe for a great product. And if you read this, let me know if I can buy a replacement charger so I can share the joy and give away one of my SJs.

Great for old ladies
My husband won't let me use a larger battery trimmer. I am a 77 year old woman and this works fine. I use it for an hour and then recharge it. Light weight. If it died I'd get another one.

Great trimmer for a good price!
I’m really happy with this purchase. I have carpal tunnel in both hands, and this little gadget has made a huge difference. I can now spend hours working in the garden without ending up in pain, which wasn’t possible before. This little machine is easy to use, and surprisingly powerful for their size. I’ve been using it mostly to trim the side bushes along our stairs, something that used to take me two hours with a heavy manual clippers and left me sore. Now I can get the same job done in about an hour, and without the strain. Recently I started using it to trim the grass that grows between my pavers (see video), and it works great! It gets the job done without needing much physical effort. Another big plus is that it’s cordless and rechargeable, so I can take it anywhere in the yard without worrying about extension cords or outlets.

So Far So Good
After removing the trimmer from the box, I charged it until the green light came on, which took almost exactly 3 hours. I'm aware that the charger doesn't have an automatic shut-off when the battery is fully charged, so for future charges I'm considering plugging the charger into a light timer, setting it for maybe 4 hours and see if it will fully charge within that amount of time. I can always adjust the timer as needed. So far (with just two uses for a total of about 30 minutes) this trimmer has operated well. I trimmed quite a large clump of what I call "monkey grass" with the grass trimmer blade which was attached when I received it. It had no problems doing this trimming. I've also tried the hedge trimmer attachment, and it works satisfactorily. It's a little slow and cannot accommodate very large limbs, but for small bushes it should do the job nicely. Thus far, the trimmer has acted flawlessly, so I would recommend it to other customers. Its light, easy to use and I like the safety switch design. Update: I recently mowed my lawn and was beginning to trim it with my 15-year-old gas weed eater when it decided to "go south"; it would no longer run. So, in the interest of wanting to complete my trimming job, put on some kneepads, grabbed these grass sheers, and for about 30 minutes crawled along the ground, trimming over 300 linear feet of curb, sidewalk, driveway and flower bed edging. (I don't recommend this to be a normal usage for these sheers by other customers, but in my case, they worked almost as well as a weed eater, and I was just about finished before the yellow recharge light came on). So, this made a total of more than an hour of run time on one charge, since I hadn't recharged it after the usage I described above. This was quite impressive to me. Incidentally, I recently ordered a cordless weed eater from Amazon to replace my old gas one.

Sharp w/long lasting charge time! Great garden tool.
I bought this SunJoe cordless grass shears to replace another brand which was really not sharp from the start. This SunJoe was extremely sharp and does a good job. It has worked perfectly for several months of this season and best of all, it holds its charge for a long time so, when I need it, it's always ready to go. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Awesome garden tool
Great for cutting off day lilies at the end of the season. Trims lilie turf and ornamental grasses. CONS: These trimmers don’t work so well when you run them over with a lawn mower. I wish the new ones were fluorescent lime green like my last pair. . .
