FireStik K-1A Push-n-Twist quick disconnect

Other's complained about this product sticking, or freezing, or the spring rusting out. Well the reason is that you shouldn't just put it on dummies. Purchase some dielectric grease like Permatex 81150, apply that to the threads, the shaft and use a q-tip to get it down onto the spring. Then occasionally perform some preventative maintenance like when you change the oil, put more grease on it. When I first got it and took it apart, it was tight and rough in assembly, after applying the grease it's operation is smooth and consistent, and should keep moisture and rust away. Works perfect with the Rampage JK antennae mount, heavy duty spring and antennae Firestik products. I'm very pleased with the installation and how clean it sharp it looks.

Even though I had this installed, I still broke my antenna pulling into my garage. I forgot to remove it. But the point is that you can easily/quickly remove your antenna and for that it works great! Being able to quickly remove the antenna to prevent damage or theft is awesome. It is super simple to use and doesn't seem to interfere with performance. I definitely recommend this! Just remember to use it!

I have had no problems with the functional use of this connector. I can quickly and easily switch antennas on my car without the use of tools.I had this on my Wrangler for month (January in Colorado - road salt and all) and noticed when I took the antenna off for the car wash that rust had started to form on the base stud. Since this device provides an important electrical contact, you can't just spray it down with WD-40. I ended up using a no-residue rust inhibitor called Safari Charlie Gun Lube. This is a fantastic product with a residue free solvent that removes rust handily. I don't know the details, but they claim it leaves an electrostatic charge at the surface of the material it protects. I applied it to the stud and the removable top part and the rust has yet to return. I also verified that SWR has not been affected. If you can't find Safari Charlie, I'd recommend trying an electrical contact cleaner or conductive contact grease like what is used on trailer harness connectors. Any auto parts store should have those.

After 20 years, I got back into CB radios mainly because my new radio receives weather channels also. Weather is becomeing an issue in the southwest as well as in other areas who did not have tornados before. I travel in an RV and want to keep up with the weather in the spring especially. This Push-n-Twist quick disconnect works very good. But just remember, it also works good for a theif. Bought an CB antenna mount for my Jeep Wrangler but when the whip is installed It will hit the top of my garage door / opening. The antenna mount is sandwiched between the rear door and the spare tire so it was tedious to thread the antenna on and off without removing the spare tire. Plus I was afraid I would cross thread the base because of the difficulty.This quick connect resolved all my concerns. I can take the antenna on and off within a couple seconds and it alleviates my cross threading concerns. Fit and finish are perfect.

I ordered this item for my Firestik antenna and it arrived at my doorstep in 2 days. Very fast delivery. This is an OEM product and fit exactly onto my antenna. It works like a champ! I was able to get the lowest SWR through all channel with my antenna after I installed the quick disconnect. Now I can remove my antenna, instead of my entire mount, when going through a car wash or other low overhangs. This is a heavy-duty item. I figure it will last longer than the antenna itself.

Works great. Easy to install but most of all it’s easy to take down when I need to jump into the garage for servicing. I was able to make the SWR adjustment without changing the antenna.
