Careful with this company - steer clear
As a newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, I purchased this for one ingredient - pterocarpus marsupium -that is supposed to be helpful. This product is a 'blend' and doesn't itemize the milligrams for the various ingredients. It shows 2 capsules of their product = 1090 mg. The first confusing thing is that their bottle says it contains 100 capsules, then under 'Supplement Facts" it says serving size - 2 capsules. Servings per container 50. Then under Recommendation their label says to "Take two capsules with a meal three times daily." Now that is 6 capsules per day divided by 100 capsules = 16.66 . Very tricky and misleading information. I wrote to Nature's Sunshine several times asking for a straight answer to a question: how many mg. in the pterocarpus marsupium and they refused to answer my question, telling me that their "blend" was proprietary. I replied that I am not a chemist and not trying to make their formula - just needed to know about the % of the herb. Finally, after fooling around with them I wrote to amazon.com and they asked on my behalf. Some gal responded as if their labeling was new to her - didn't seem to care that their labeling was incorrect and went away and never answered the questions I had posed. I told them I was going to report them to the federal agency that has jurisdiction over their products, which I will do this week. Diabetes is nothing to be taken likely and my physician prescribed a drug (like they all do) but I prefer Eastern medicine to Western. Long story short, I purchased from amazon. from another seller one/another product, Pure Encapsulations Lipid Support Formula. It clearly has their bottle marked correctly and the mg. of the herb shown as 100 mg.
