The lifting soles are secured to the base with Velcro in addition to the groves for the elastic bands on the side, which helps make the whole thing feel more stable. It works best with a shoe that fits firmly on your foot. I tried it with a slip-on shoe first and at one point the lift came off the back of my shoe. When I wore it with a sneaker, the lift stayed on all day.

Works like a charm. I learned about evenups from a professional rehab specialist. Best advise I have received in a long time. I am on my third one. Worn everyday they last about one year and are well worth it.

I was in an air cast for months because of a fractured subtalar bone (one of the many small bones in the foot). After a week or two in the boot my hips were aching because I was lopsided. The orthopedist never recommended this, but while I was in the waiting room for a follow up, another patient suggested this. It was inexpensive but high quality and brilliantly made with adjustments available to make the height right. Glad I found out about this. The sizing was great and it was quite easy to use and adjust. I used it for several months and it lasted well.

Started experiencing lower back pain while using a walking boot around the house, so purchased the EVENup adjustable height shoe lift in large (I wear a U.S. men's 12 shoe) to even out my walking gait. The product did just that and my back pain subsided. The upper cage is made of a flexible rubber that expands around the shoe to hold it in place; however, experienced a little slipping in the heel area, but not enough to cause stability concerns. There is a thin velcro strap to secure the upper toe area. The sole is grippy and never slipped on ceramic tile or vinyl flooring surfaces. The shoe lift comes set at the highest height, which is what I retained, but the platform soles are removable if a lower height is desired. Overall, pleased with the product, but perhaps a wider strap would be better. No durability issues, but only used the product everyday for ~four weeks. Also, never had an issue with the rubber cage leaving marks/creases on my shoes, but I didn't wear the same pair of shoes every day. IMPORTANT - closely adhere to the vendor's instructions for selecting a size. All of my shoes measured longer than 12", so this is why I bought large over medium. Also, the shape of the shoe is very important. My slip-in Sketchers did not fit well, but shoes with a lower/streamlined sole profile, more closely resembling the vendor's picture did.

Awesome product. Easy to put on and saved my hips and legs while I had to wear a walking boot on the other leg. So many people who saw me with this say they wished they had this when they had to wear a waking boot.

Recommended by orthopedic doctor, when my partner's foot was in a boot. It leveled him out. Prior to using the lift, his back and hip were hurting from his uneven gait. The sizing was correct. It was easy to put on. It works as intended, but expensive for what is in my opinion.

My doctor recommended the EVENup after I was put in a walking boot for a partially torn Achilles tendon. I ended up wearing the boot for a couple of months, and this shoe lift made a huge difference. I used it on a sneaker, and it immediately helped balance out the height difference so I could walk much more normally and without the awkward limp. The sizing does run a bit small—I wear a men’s 7.5, and the small was slightly tight, but it still worked well and stayed secure. The adjustable height feature is great, and overall the product feels sturdy and well-designed. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who has to wear a walking boot or cast. It makes everyday movement so much easier and more comfortable.

If you are in a aircast or similar get one of these ASAP. Your back will thank you. So much easier to walk around once I put this on. This brand is a little more expensive than some of the knock offs, but I like that it has some level adjustments which came in handy.
