Great for cookies and should be long lasting
We have 2 larger scoops so it was time to get a smaller one. We had a smaller one previously that we purchased at a discount house. It did not last lone - it broke. We decided the OXO product would complement our other scoops and last a long time. Now, I understand that scoops used by professionals are given a number. I do not know why the corresponding number is not given on any of the 3 scoops we own.

Works Perfectly for Dough Handling
This product works really well! The release mechanism is excellent—the dough doesn’t stick and comes off easily, making the process smooth and hassle-free. Great design and functionality.

Yes!
Bought these in all the sizes! (Will copy and paste review for the others) I have tried many kinds of cookie scoops plastic, lever action, mixed materials. These are the best but what else to expect from OXO. Comfortable grip for making massive batches of cookies (like 8 dozen or more) Squeeze handle lessens hand fatigue combined with smooth gears. Metal gears and mechanization means they won’t slip or stop working even with super thick or chunky dough; if you can squeeze the handle the scoop will work. Various sizes make for easy and uniform cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and even full size cakes (makes dividing batter between multiple pans super easy and helps make sure they come out the same size!)

Terrible quality - I missed the return window
Cookie scoop broke after two uses. It’s so disappointing - and this isn’t a cheap cookie scooper!! Sadly I missed the return window by one day and I couldn’t return it. Please be warned.

I bought the Small & Meduim OXO Cookie scoops.......
OXO Good Grips Cookie Scoop ~ Small I was looking for a cookie scoop, believe it or not, I had never heard of one until I read about one in a magazine & it mentioned that with a cookie scoop, you could make uniform size cookies. I was not good at uniform sized, so it was with great interest I came into Amazon to look for one. Since I knew zero about what to choose, I took a look around to see what had the best reviews & mid-range price. OXO looked to be a great choice, people were happy, so I bought the medium size. It worked great but it seemed the cookies might be a bit too big. The Meduim OXO cookie scoop performs like a champion & I am happy with that purchase. I returned to Amazon & bought the OXO small size as the medium does work very well. I ordered this product brand new from Amazon & received it on 11 December 2012. I decided to use it for the first time on 24 December 2012, when I made cookies. I got exactly eight cookies scooped & on a pan before the spring shot out & flew across the room & the scooper fell apart. I have four or so pieces of the scooper. I am shocked the scooper would do eight sugar cookies & fly into pieces. Really. The spring took flight & went to the other side of the kitchen. I paid $12.99 for the scooper, to last for eight cookies means each use of the scoop cost $1.62 + . Pretty expensive scoops. I did *not* contact Amazon about the problem. I went to OXO & sent the an email informing them of the problem. On the OXO website, it states there is a "Satisfaction Guarantee" This states: "We guarantee everything we make! If for any reason you are not satisfied with an OXO product, return it for replacement or refund. Please contact OXO's customer service department and we will be happy to assist you." So I did contact them. It took longer to receive a reply than I liked, but I do have to factor in that Christmas & New Years were in motion too. I stated the problem, and a received a nice reply from OXO. I sent them a copy of the Amazon receipt & a picture of all the pieces of the scooper. All of the emails have been returned with kindness & generosity.. Today (09 January 2013) I received a package from OXO. Inside is the new scooper. I tested it with squeezing, but no cookies yet. I hope my problem with the small OXO scooper that I got first is just a one time thing, a fluke. After the fantastic customer service of the OXO company & the fact they do stand behind their merchandise, I have to recommend their products & I will buy OXO if I have the choice of their merchandise when buying something I want or need.

Amazingly Helpful When Making Cookies
I saw this tool being used by Martha Stewart and immediately thought, "OMG, where has my life been?" and, "How did I not know that this tool existed?" I bought the small version immediately and have been using it ever since. Before I discovered this cookie scooper, I would use a spoon or measuring spoon to scoop out cookie dough to roll around in my hands before placing them on a baking sheet. Now that I have this, I can just scoop dough and pop them out onto a pan for consistent sized cookies! Do you have any idea how much time that saves, and how convenient that is? This cookie scooper is well-made, and scoops and releases dough effortlessly. The hand grip is very comfortable after repetitive use. And it's easy enough to clean without any small crevices to get dough out of. I love using this now for all my baking needs. Recommended.

Cookies Made Easy
For years, I used a spoon to drop cookie dough on my pans. Yes, that works just fine but if you want evenly sized, perfectly shaped cookies, this really helps. It makes scooping out the dough a pleasure when it used to be a bother. Also speeds the process. The handles are grippy & the squeeze is smooth. I have these scoops in all 3 sizes. Scoops are particularly helpful when making sandwich cookies because it's more important to get same size cookies. I like to use the 1 ½ Tablespoon scoop for making whoopie pies; not too big, not too small. I put the scoops through the dishwasher with no problem.

My mum has had a cookie scoops for years and only recently did I find out it was OXO branded. So decided to get 2 more as I already use OXO weighing scales which are great. Expected great product quality but 1 of the 2 broke after 2 scoops of a soft cookie dough! The other just slips (but this is expected from cookie scoops anyway). Returning the broken one! Same thing happened for the 2 medium scoops I ordered. 1 dead, the other is fine. What on earth??
