well built good value.
well made precision built little machine, good value for the money. with water well below scalding temperature in a styrofoam soda cup, and an ice cube on the top plate my little LTD sterling will run for an hour. starts out abot 180 rpm, still running at the end 30 rpm. gonna put some graphite on the friction points & see what that does. pobably gonna try some boiling water & see how fast it will go. good well built product. i would recommend it.

Melted the inner displacer last night, happy to order another one today.
DO NOT LEAVE OVER AN OPEN FLAME such as a zippo. Melted the displacer in mine last night. Besides that though this is a very fun toy and fairly entertaining. It needs a fair temperature difference such as placing it on top of a cup of coffee or tea but it runs great. A bit squeeky and a little louder than I expected, but the novelty of having a fun piece like this is worth it. Even though I ruined mine I'd definitely purchase again.

Great gift for kids to get them interested in science and engineering.
Even the adults that saw this, who were unfamiliar with Sterling engines, were amazed. Great discussion starter, and a great way to get kids interested in science and engineering... not to mention that it is simply beautiful too. Definitely get one (or more).

Well made, quality hardware. When I first run it there was a squeaky sound. I tried rubbing pencil lead (graphite) as suggested on the internet. Well, did not eliminate the squeaky noise so I use light oil. Now it is quite and seems to run faster.

Works very well.
The Stirling engine works quite well with either hot water as a heat source or with ice as a heat sink.

I bought mine for my dad for Father's day. Wanted to test it out and be sure it would work. I boiled a cup of water and put it into my thermos. Still running after 2 hours. I plan on getting myself one.
