What I needed
Pros: This plays my family movies, vcds, mp3 duet of my mom and me with some weird dictation in between, dvds, and home made (hp memories) slide shows. I don't remember if it plays cds with jpgs (I think it does). It gives me a way to play the others and I can still migrate the jpgs to a flash drive. Its size fits in with the cds/dvds on the same shelf, which is a bonus. Experience: I played from hdmi to monitor connection, so my main goal was to see different formats of family videos which it accomplished in lieu of not having a computer with a dvd player. Going from HDMI to monitor mode, possibly vga, it made the main menu too big for the monitor, but this is an older one. I think for hdmi to hdmi, it would be more proportional. Once I got into play mode for the home movies, I could see my family was the main thing. I don't remember if I used the remote. I think I went with play, stop, and eject on the machine side. Cons: The plastic is a little fragile so handle it carefully. The stand came with one plastic knob cover broken so I gorilla glued it back on. I found the stand awkward to use because the back keeps falling backwards and unless the player is resting on the lip of the stand, the wire lip gets in the way of the door opening. It looks nice but isn't very practical. Other stands work fine in its place. It may provide a way to hang from back of monitor, but I would be watching it carefully and I still have to take it out of the stand to open the dvd door. If you are playing from usb flash drive, maybe that is not an issue. Overall, the player itself is a very good buy and minimalist in look, storage, and does a lot for a small device. I am extremely happy with it.

Just be aware of plugs not going fully in.
Works well, now that all plugs are in fully.

FINALLY, a Mini that Works!
I've been through six DVD players in the last six months, all returned with disgust. Usually, the issue is picture quality. Terrible, terrible picture quality. Another issue is that most don't fit in the tiny space I have, even the minis because they're badly designed or just not very mini. This is very well designed at this price point, and the picture quality was excellent once I adjusted the resolution in the settings. I'm annoyed that closed captioning came on by default, which is really common and very stupid, and I almost threw it back in the box when I saw it taking up 2/3rds of my screen by default, but a resolution change fixed that AND the crappy image quality at first. After six worthless DVD players, I am truly pleasantly surprised and excited about this one. I'd expected to throw it right back in the box, but nope! If you need tiny, good, and inexpensive, THIS in your DVD player! Finally, I can use my workout DVDs again!

Worked For Seven Minutes
I cannot recommend this machine despite its looks and small size because the Maite Region Free DVD player stopped working after seven minutes. It worked great until then though. The first DVD I put in played fine for a while then started skipping, then the machine sounded like a jackhammer and started grinding loudly, then it stopped working altogether and read error. I tried several other discs and it did the same thing when it actually worked. Repacked and returned on the same day it arrived. Garbage at any price. Too bad. Nice looking player.

Great for the Money
The remote could be labeled better to make it easier to use. The DVD is fantastic for the money. The only thing missing is an auto shut off when the disc ends. We accidentally left it on SPINNING for over 24 hours. You have to manually shut it off. Set up was simple, works very well. Can't go wrong for the price!

Perfect design with strong performance
This DVD player is not cheap, but I can hardly find any another DVD player that are AS neat and thin like this one. NEVER seen a DVD player with this awesome shape design, thin & light, portable. I hate the traditional shape of a DVD player, old and rusty. The XTP deserves the price paid, I use it to play the disc I bought while traveling and this DVD player is region free (at least for European disc) I enjoy music through the compact RCA because it has stable connection and great quality than Bluetooth speakers. Very happy with my purchase and not to mention is actually possible to carry it while traveling, cuz it’s charging type is a MICRO-USB so I can charge my phone or play my dvds if I bought one from traveling. Hope to gain great values over it. Would highly recommend this.

Bad interference noise
The unit works well and is pretty fast starting up and playing. Mechanically it’s fairly quiet. But it produces a bad electrical noise on both the HDMI and analog outputs.
