The Great Shark Escape (The Magic School Bus Chapter Book, No. 7)

We purchased this book as a Secret Santa book for one of my daughter's classmates. My daughter is in the first grade, and her friend told her he LOVES Magic School Bus stories. I wanted to select one that would be moderately challenging for their age group, but also one that he may not have already read. I picked this one, because what boy doesn't like sharks?? Plus, this is a "chapter book" which can help the kids prepare for the books and reading that are to come in the next few years. The text in the book is in large print, which is less intimidating for new readers. There are also a few black and white pictures to enjoy. My daughter said he loves it! So all in all, this purchase was a holiday success.

Love, love, love these books!!! We have been reading these books to my daughter since she was 3 years old because she is curious and asks questions about everything! Each book has great detail and information about the topic of that book. The characters make learning about science fun and exciting! Definitely not a bedtime book because the books generate even more questions from your child. Great way to encourage interest in science! My wife and I have even learned from reading these books to our daughter.

My first grade student loved this book! He just started reading chapter books and he was very excited reading this!

My son loves to read and loves nature and this series brings them together in a fun way. He is 6 and reads at a 4th grade level and these are perfect for him - engaging and educational!

A very entertaining story as well as a lot of information on sharks. A true "The Magic School Bus" book.
