The Ukulele Songbook: Bluegrass Classics

I love these books! I have a (well 2), concert ukuleles, I found “Bluegrass Classics” on Amazon and bought it and loved it! Then I noticed that the author, Thomas Balinger, has published 4 of the ukulele in the key of C books.... I bought all 4! They are super easy to follow! Each song shows strumming pattern, chord changes, melody and finger picking patterns! I have been playing for 2 years, I consider myself beginner to intermediate, I mostly strum, just starting to learn finger picking. I found these books to be perfect for my level of playing! I also just purchased (arrives Wednesday) a banjolele, can’t wait to play these songs with my banjo ukulele!

I love music books that have lyrics, standard type notation, tabs and chords. They allow me to strum and sing, or fingerstyle pick, or just have fun converting the notes into my own tabs. The presentation is easy to follow and selection of songs really nice. I was over-joyed to see Molly and Tenbrooks in this collection. I loved that song as a child, and now--wow! I can play it on ukulele. Coming off a guitar, the ukulele was a challenge, but music sheets like these make it a breeze. It is a large paperback, so you might want a large clamp to hold it open, or have it spiral bound or hole punched to stay open.

This is a great ole timey book with folk tunes. I’m not familiar with about half of them so I go to you tube. I can’t say I’d bought it if I’d seen it in real time. But I do enjoy the songs singing and playing the ones I no. It is worth the price. Well printed. Good paper and charts.

As far as the series goes, it’s not bad. Most of these are little elementary for site reading purposes. Like all the books in the series they serve their purpose for the right price. 10 bucks is a nice. As far as the arrangements and composition, not too bad, it’s a little heavy on the easy key signatures, some of the songs are arranged to fit the page rather than to experience the piece of music, and as far as the variety, they seem to be diverse just like the other two books for Ukulele.

Fun book. I’m a new player and this book is easy to follow with a good variety of songs.

I have always loved bluegrass music and now I can learn to play them on an ukulele.

This is a great book for beginners it tells you the cords that are going to be played it shows you where you need to put your Finger placement makes it to where anybody can play the ukulele and of course the music is awesome

Schnell in Pappumschlag geliefert. Wie beschrieben Inhalt Übersichtlich gestaltet. Viele Bluegrass Klassiker enthalten Auswahl der Musikstücke ist letztendlich Geschmackssache. Als Geschenk für Ukefortgeschrittene (Griffe sind doch recht anspruchsvoll) aber genau das Richtige.

Excellent book. I don't recognise the songs but intend to learn.

This is a fun book, but it's very basic. If you are an experienced player that plays solo I would pass on this book as you will most likely be bored. If you have someone else to play with its more fun as there are accompanying chords with the melody tabs. This would be a good book for a beginner. For someone who has never played the ukulele this would be excellent.
