A great connectivity all-rounder
I think the Denon n11 is really great. It does everything I wanted from a mini hifi system. I wanted to replaced an aged 20 year old mini hifi cd tape deck system which no longer worked. The Denon connects via ethernet (haven't needed to use the wifi or bluetooth) and optical to TV and by phono to record deck (which still needs a repair). I can Airplay from my iPhone via iTunes or HEOS app.( I can't seem to queue tracks in iTunes but can in HEOS app). I could also reuse my existing 100 watt 8 ohm Sony speakers and it sounds great. After turning up the base by 2db and turning down the tone by 2db, it sounded perfect and really loud. The set up was easy. I liked the way the speaker cables are gripped by the socket. The software updates all went smoothly over ethernet. The packaging and quick start guide are all simple and elegant. The remote control is full size and clear to use. I had to figure out some of the EQ settings but they are all clear on the remote. The amp is a nice size, not too large. I don't miss having a big volume knob on the front of the amp as the design is very clean and minimal. The CD works well as expected and the draw fits into the design simply. There are touch sensitive controls on the top which light up when touched. Internet radio is easy to use and sounds great as is the DAB radio. I opted for the grey finish. It is really grey and not metallic grey but it looks really good if you don't want another black box.

Lovely compact HiFi.
I love my Denon CEOL-N11, used every day for DAB radio, and the occasional album streamed from my NAS. Bought to replace an old Panasonic system of my mums. 'This is so much sleeker and a pleasure to use, The display is so useful. Great little unit and admired by visitors. Nice to have a remote in this day and age,

Nice bit of kit after a painful start.
UPDATE after 1 month; Fixed at last! (I think). I moved the unit from bedroom to living room determined to make it work. It refused to connect to the internet via wi-fi even though we have strong wi-fi coverage from a Mesh system. It would not recognise the USB stick at all. Then it refused to allow me to access any wi-fi settings, then it stopped doing almost anything. So I did a system re-set (press and hold Back and, while holding Back, press the On button and hold both for 3 seconds). Then I re-connected the wi-fi from scratch. As if by magic, everything seems to be fixed! Even the app now works smoothly. Now everything works, I can say that is a great system and I added a star, it might get another star if it continues to behave. In retrospect, I suspect that an initial system update soon after I first turned it on might have caused the problem. I can't believe they would let it leave the factory like that, but who knows. ____________________________________ After 2 weeks; I bought this to replace a 25-year-old Denon Mini CD plus radio amplifier in our bedroom. Nothing wrong with the old one, I just thought that the modern additions would be worth trying. The results so far are mixed at best. Good bits; Audio quality is very good through my old Monitor Audio Bronze B1s. CDs are easy to play, DAB radio seems to work fine. Internet radio works to an extent. The unit looks nice. Not so good; God it's frustrating to set up and use. It has been close to being thrown in the bin several times now. Although it has a remote, it is really designed to be operated by phone using the HEOS App. Big mistake. The app frequently freezes and has to be re-started. And it means that if you don't carry your phone around everywhere with you, you may never actually use the device at all. One plus of the app is that you can easily connect it to a music subscription service like (in my case) Amazon Music if that is your thing. That connection actually worked very smoothly. USB playback is really glitchy. I am using a new Samsung 128Gb stick which I had to re-format to NTFS before the system would even recognise it (I never had to do that for cars or computers before). I loaded it with about 10Gb of music files. I turn on the unit with the USB inserted. I get the wheel of death for about a minute, then 'CEOL' appears on the display. I press OK and it is 50/50 whether I get the files list appear, or whether it says 'No USB Found'. Then it is 'turn it off and on again' until it works. It has even just stopped in the middle of a track, freezing the system completely requiring a re-start. Most frustrating is that, when it works, it is pretty good, easy to search and find tracks, good quality playback, everything I could want. Internet radio seems to work through an intermediary service called InTune (no idea) which doesn't seem to have all internet radio stations (compared to our PC for example) but otherwise seems OK. So a mixed bag. A nice bit of kit ruined by a poor interface. Sadly, I suspect that all the frustrations will mean that I will hardly ever use it. Maybe just for CDs and radio, much like the system it replaced.

Good amp
I had a CEOL N9 originally but found the software to be quite frustrating lockups and needing to unplug and plug back in to get things to work were common and the app was so bad I uninstalled it after a few days ,the CEOL 11 seems to have pretty much solved much of these frustrations and added the Heos muti room ability ,the app actually works most of the time ,not prefect but not bad ,on the whole I really like this amp and it's ease of use with things like Spotify really make it useful and it sounds really good ,I got the grey version which in reality looks a bit like the stuff they make grey Lego out of which I don't mind but might some people off ,the older version N9 was piano black which looked more classy and less toyish but was a dust and finger print magnet and showed up light scratches very easily ,the new display offers more information which I appreciate ,clarity is very good on these displays and adjustable for brightness which is great in a dark room ,but the power and cd eject buttons stay bright white regardless of the display settings which is a shame and should of followed suit with the display ,illuminated touch sensitive top controls are a mixed bag ,they dont illuminate unless you touch them so in the dark your likely going to press the wrong one because you cant see or feel them ,anyway moans and groans aside it works well the remote is full featured and works well too Spotify connect has been way more reliable than the older version and the sound is great I have used these in conjunction with Dali Spector 2 speakers which are my favourite at the moment ,warm, detailed and powerful sounding ,Bowers and Wilkins 601 also nice sound but slightly less warmth and slightly more top end and a Bowers and Wilkins AS2 sub ,set quite low so as not to overpower everything ,in the bedroom the sub is just overkill but it comes to life in the more spacious living room and everything opens up with the volume past about 40 percent ,it's a great sound from a digital amp and there is no lack of power at all ,in fact it gets impressively loud with very little distotion ,would love to try some floorstanders and see how it sounds I'm sure the amp would be more than capable

Excellent value for money. Brilliant sound in a feature packed unit. Tip: buy a UK to Australian adapter. Unit comes from the UK with a UK plug

The unit would not connect to the network, after consultation with Denon Support Centre, the unit was deemed faulty and returned. Have re-ordered but have not yet received the new unit. Cannot fault Denon Support Centre, and especially Mark who provided detailed instructions. Looking forward to receving the new unit
