Ready to Use Batter for Beginners
I am a pure Mumbaikar and never knew how to make dosa except what I have seen on dosa stalls. I tried it first time with MTR dosa mix and it didnt come up good, I guess mainly because of improper water quantity. 1. ID Fresh Batter is very easy to use. No need to mix anything as its a ready batter. 2. Take the Dosa Pan or normal frying pan, dry it nicely and apply oil with brush or small cloth piece, I use tissue paper. 3. Using a Ladle spoon pour it on a "COOL" pan. Remember not to use it on heated pan. 3. Spread it nicely in circular pattern till its covered all over the pan surface. 4. Turn on the stove and heat it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes 5. Pour some drops of oil in the side of dosa and over it and let it cook further. 6. For the second Dosa, remember you have to cool down your heating pan first and repeat the procedure. Thats it ! you can add the traditional potato bhaji over it but we generally have it without anything using olive oil. Still tastes good.

Idli Dosa batter (water based)
Turned out soft & fluffy. Tastes ok. But bit costly. Also, this is wet better (i.e. already mixed with water).
