I finally decided to add a phone mount in my truck after avoiding them for many years. I got my first Scosche unit at a big box retailer. It worked like a charm for my iPhone 5S in a Ballistic case. I put the magnet inside the case without even sticking it using the tape. The mount attached to my dash easily and stayed there no problem with the double back tape pre-installed on the mount. Using this made driving much safer and kept my eyes up about dash level even when answering incoming calls or looking at the GPS. Later, I bought a second one here at Amazon for my iPhone 6+ in a Ballistic case. I did the same setup as before, bu I used the larger magnet provided inside the case because it's a heavier/larger phone. I had two problems that do not deter me from giving this a 5-star rating, but I want to share to help others out: 1) While the Ballistic case for my iPhone 6+ is thin, it's not *as* thin as the one I had on my iPhone 5S so the magnet doesn't work as well. Big bumps or rutted dirt roads will shake the phone right off the mount and it will fall. The 6+ is heavier and larger so maybe that's the issue, but I think it's the case. I have considered putting the magnet on the outside of the case. That said, this system works like a charm and i do like the magnet vs. other systems I've seen 2) The tape that holds the mount on the dash completely failed me when I tried to mount this to my van dash. The first one I purchased mounted perfectly on a very smooth surface in my Nissan Frontier, but in a Chevy cargo van, the slightly textured dash didn't hold the stickiness and it just fell off. I went out and bought some super-duty double back tape at Home Depot and that didn't work either. In the end, I need GPS for my business so I just peeled off all the residue on the mount and super-glued it to the dashboard of the van. Be aware that the tape provided will not stick effectively to a textured surface. Bottom line, the ease of just slapping the phone right up on the mount (sometimes without even having to look) and being able to grab it off with ease, makes for a super-great car mount. I don't plan to use anything else.

This review is for the WINDOW / DASH VERSION MOUNT only. (Tried the Short Window version mount and HATED that version!!). This Window/Dash version works super well for me and my iPhone 7 Plus. I was specifically looking for the magnetic mounting feature, so as to be super quick and can do with only one hand. My husband has a clasp type mount for his car/phone and I hate it - have to use two hands and is more cumbersome. The only thing I wasn't sure of before I purchased this was if the magnet force would hold my phone when placed under my phone case. I knew I didn't want to attach the magnet directly to my phone. And I knew I didn't want to attach the magnet to outside of my case! (1. would look ugly; 2. would most likely get caught in my purse or pocket and rip off over time). I have one of those two-layer cases - the softer inner case and then the hard shell that goes over the top of that. I stuck the magnet (larger sized one) BETWEEN those layers of my case. So its on top of the soft layer, but underneath the hard shell layer (and therefore out of view). This works perfectly for me! The magnetic force is still super strong and holds my phone, no problem. Doing it this way has an added bonus - I never even took off the adhesive protection film, so the magnet is not adhered to my case at all. It just stays put between the layers of my phone case, does not slide around in there, and no problems. This can be useful if you ever have to move the magnet to another phone/case and the adhesive hasn't even been used yet. The other thing I was worried about before I bought was if the suction cup on the base would stick enough to my car dash material, and the ideal place to mount it had a slight curve. You can see in the pic that I have "textured" elephant-like skin material for my dash in the place that it would work best for me. It works and holds absolutely fine. I would highly recommend!

ORIGINAL: I did a lot of research to try to find the magnetic car mount that would be the strongest because I have a large battery case around my phone which dramatically increases the weight. This magnetic mount turned out to be very strong. The battery case I have is the "iPhone 6 Plus Battery Case, Foxin 8000 mAh Extended Battery Case Rechargeable Power Bank Charging Case for iPhone 6 Plus." I use it for my iPhone 6 plus (the bigger/heavier one). If you look up that case or look at the pictures I posted, you can see how large the case is and why I thought it might be too heavy for a magnet. I drove around all day making sharp/fast turns to see if I could knock my phone off this mount and it did not slide in any direction at all. Coincidentally, I almost got in an accident on the highway when a guy in front of me went from ~ 55 mph to ~ 10 mph in about 1.5 seconds by slamming on his breaks. I slammed on my breaks and made a jerking turn into the shoulder. The stuff in my passenger seat hit into the dashboard and fell onto the floor but the phone did not slide or move. So the magnets they use are about as strong as any phone could need. The mount came with two metal plates (one big and one small) which have an extremely sticky adhesive on the back. The little pegs on the back of the mount are very strong but CAN be bent under enough force. I bent mine slightly (while intentionally trying to bend them) but I don't think any vent would bend them or someone could accidentally bend them. UPDATE: The vent mount did not hold to the vent after about a week or two. I bought the dashboard adhesive version by the same company with the same magnet strength. The new, dash mount is great and I have no complaints. Because the new mount is good I have decided not to deduct any stars but I do not recommend the vent version of this car mount.

Very sturdy design and sticks in my car window well. Phone does not fall off when driving due to the powerful magnet. The only thing is that I had to stick the magnet on the outside of my phone case as the hold of the magnet wasn't quite strong enough on the inside to be a firm grip. Would definitely recommend!

Yo tenia mis dudas al comprar este soporte para el coche ya que tenia un iman dude que sirviera como lo prometía, primero compre el de la ventila pero funcionaba tanto el iman que al retirarlo se venia el soporte de la ventila así que compre el que se pegaba al tablero y estoy mas que feliz la verdad es una gran compra, tiene un pegamento de la marca 3M que se adhiere muy bien al tablero y por que halla calor en el coche y le de el sol jamas se va a despegar tengo este es el segundo que compro para otro coche y el primero del que me hice tengo mas de año y medio y no ha pasado nada no se ha movido ni se ha despegado lo recomiendo ampliamente!!!. les recomiendo pegar la placa metálica a la funda del celular ya que así mejora exponencialmente la atracción al iman, por cierto el iman no daña en nada al teléfono yo tengo un iphone y no tienen ningún problema.

Well made but instructions vague and small type, this is the second one purchased for my wife's car I had mine from phone shop while ago.

Die Empfehlung genau diesen Handyhalter zu nehmen, bekam ich von meinem Sohn. Ich borgte ihn mir aus und nach der Probefahrt musste er es sein. Bin sehr zufrieden, denn die Magnete halten super, auch in Klapphandyhüllen. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
