Editing is actually what makes a writer, that is, to always rewrite the manuscript, instead of snobbing at it, after reconsidering words that were used. It's the most essential part of getting the book published.

Good book on writing!

I bought this book on September 2023. I am writing this review on May 2024. Since then, I read this book cover-to-cover twice. I return to several sections of this book almost every week and find something nuanced to take back from it when I get stuck in my writing activities. This book has single-handedly helped in publishing 2 case studies and 1 research article in top quartile Scopus indexed journals in a span of seven months. And I am NOT from academia and have full time day job in the tech industry. If you want to be a published non-fiction writer, this book has the power to create you.

Writers need to write to get better but often times we as writers forget or are too lazy to revisit our work to improve it, edit it. This is especially to sharpen your writing skills, and chop the unnecessary parts which we hold on to just because we wrote them. It's about writing with originality and writing for the reader. Excellent book to get you to start writing better.

This book is completely for those who wants to write a book but not for those who wanted to start a writing from beginning. Beginners can get some writing tips from 1st and 2nd part and rest is good.

There are many books out there this is the foundational one for non-fiction writing just go for it. Its the best for writing non fiction books and blogs

Book writing style not meet to Indian subcontinent reader it's for American people, understand this type of English give more force to brain, not use proper grammar and not give proper guidance how to write well just give two lines guidance and then copy-paste of famous western writer so tell me how to write, worst book

My absolute favourite for writing non-fiction well. Most style guides are hard yakka. The difference in this book is that it is like a rare master conveying to his beloved students the secrets of writing well. The book itself is a demonstration of well-written text. The advice is understandable, relevant, and immediately helpful for all kinds of non-fiction. I found the book is so delightful that I read it, for pleasure, at the close of the day.

No book has improved my writing as much as this one! It addresses many issues you didn’t realise you had and guides you towards a creative path. Rather than dwelling on punctuation or grammar, this book enlightens the actual craft of writing; how to go about it. Other than an occasional silly attempt at political correctness of his day (so called sexism and so on), this book is filled with great insights.
