Persona 5 Royal (PS4)

My son bought me this game after raving to me about it constantly for some time. So what was all the fuss about? Well, this game is AWESOME. It’s difficult to compare it to any other game, because it’s not quite like any other game. The graphics are manga comic style, they are sharp and colourful. The background music at the various locations is so catchy, that you could just put the game on and use the music as a relaxing background in your home The game itself is set over a Japanese school year and you need to build up relations with the various characters to give yourself additional ability for the final big boss battle at the end of the year. The setting in japa is fantastic with many of the locations based on real life Japanese locations. The battle are turn based and you have to work with all your group’s abilities to defeat the enemies, and the abilities grow and evolve over time as your relationships do the same. But it is the story line that wins out. It is totally immersive, engaging, has some great unexpected reveals, and you soon come to almost associate with these characters as your friends. The story builds over the school year, with new characters entering as it moves along. The only downside I have is that it is so sad when the story ends and you have to say goodbye to these people because you just want to carry on and see where their lives take them.

Amazing game

Best game I've played in a while. Really good as a FES/golden continuation of last game. Lots of really greater changes. Boss battles a little mixed, but really fun still. Haven't beaten yet but been having a lot more fun that original p5 atm. New characters are much better than I initially gave credit for and most changes are a really positive improvement! Tons of fun! If you haven't played it get it!!

Bit late to the party but one of the best games I've ever played. Great story but really long if you're into casual games. Took about 80 hours in my first play though and that didn't include the extra content that the royal edition offers.

I loved the first 80 hours, but after that it did feel like it was dragging its feet. I completed it after 120 hours and my general thoughts for the last 5/10 hours was "get on with it", which is a shame. Turn based JRPGs have been an abandoned format and it definitely felt good to play a game using this system again. Character development is interesting and nuanced (except for skull... skull never learns). Voice acting is solid. Combat system is interesting and took a lot of lessons from FF10. I would say my only issue is the pacing, particularly for the 'royal' extensions where there is a hell of a lot of filler in the form of travelling to see people when you dont actually have a choice so it might as well be cut scenes rather than forcing me to run through the underground system for 10 minutes for a 1 minute dialogue 7/8 times in a row. This isnt the only time the game has sections like this and it gets painful after a while. Out of my 120 hour play through, maybe 10 hours was completely wasteful bloat and 40 hours was spent in mementos grind. The rest however was good and solid story telling. Definitely worth a pick up.

I absolutely love this game I’ve always heard of persona games but shied away from them due to them being extremely long JRPGs I do love RPG games but persona is 80-120 hours long and that’s always put me off but it’s definitely worth it the game play is solid and the story is more than good enough to keep me interested in it too I love the game mechanics and all the different moves and styles it’s definitely a game I can highly recommend

Best game ever!

L'ho comprato tempo fa e giocato solo di recente...che devo dire, è fantastico in tutto e per tutto e questa versione espansa ha pure i sottotitoli in italiano. Consiglio di giocarlo in Giappone doppiato, molto meglio rispetto all'inglese (comunque ottimo). La storia vi piacerà tanto!

De lo mejor qué he jugado en mí vida! Te relacionas muy bien con todos y cada uno de los personajes de éste juego! Tienes escenas animadas,una historia muy extensa (Mucho Texto) llevó horas jugando y seguro no voy ni a la mitad. Aquí es divertido hasta subir tus estadísticas,literal algunas las subes Juagando minijuegos jaja,increíble!

Siempre habia escuchado sobre la saga Persona, se puso de moda con la cuarta entrega, pero nunca lo habia jugado. Aprovechando el precio reducido lo compré en Amazon y le di una oportunidad. El arranque me pareció muy japo, en localizaciones, personajes, nombres... pero segui jugando. A las 5 horas engancha de mala manera por su estilo novedoso de RPG, carisma de personajes, historia interesante, batallas, acciones variadas que realizar en el dia a dia. Acabo de terminarlo con 150 horas jugadas!!! Y tengo ganas de mas! Solo puedo recomendarlo encarecidamente y deseando que en PS5 no tarde en salir una sexta entrega. Voces en ingles y textos en castellano. La version Royal amplia a la normal y trae el idioma castellano. No os lo penseis y si os gusta este estilo de juego haceros con el!
