Vanish Fluorocarbon Fishing Line/Leader Material

I love this fishing line. It's nearly impossible to see this line in the water. Super hard to break without scissors. Lightweight and plenty of fishing line for multiple fishing reels. I plan to keep this fishing line on hand.

I got this line for my bait caster for a trip to Canada and it performed flawlessly. I had no issues with backlash and the line was strong enough to handle some pretty big pike for 12# test line. I have had no issues with line twist or memory.

Quality: This has been a good line on my downrigger rods. It has been strong enough to land some big fish and looks great in the water. The only issue I have had is the line memory, it definitely holds onto the reel shape after a while and without a barrel swivel will eventually develop a twist. With the barrel swivels it is mostly negated, at least regarding downrigger setups.

This line casts great and it’s pretty strong for 10 pound test. The line does snap if you’re snagged but it takes a good amount of effort. The only thing I don’t really like is how it stretches I understand that it’s normal with mono and fluorocarbon and that’s why I usually use braid but it is still good line.

This is my secret ingredient for trout fishing in clear waters. I’ve used other brands but this by far is the best. I was fishing at a high altitude lake and catching pan sized trout with a friend from the shore. I caught 6 in the first hour and released them all but my friend caught zero. We switched her setup exactly as mine except she wanted to use Maxima leader instead. The next hour I caught 5 rainbows while she still had nothing (exact same bait, weight, hook, location and main line, the only difference was leader brand (Maxima vs Berkeley). We switched her over to Berkeley Vanish leader and she caught 7 trout the next hour while I still caught 5. I’ve tested this with other people I’ve met fishing from the shore with the exact same results. I am completely convinced this vanish leader is completely invisible under the water and will catch fish when no one else can. In fact on one of my trips to the same lake last summer, I caught 10 large trout, in 9 days the smallest just over 3 pounds and the largest just under 7 pounds. I logged all the catches at the marina and no one else turned in a fish in that 9 day span to have weighed and recorded. Once you find the right bait that the fish like and use this line as a leader, you will be guaranteed to catch fish. I do.

Always a go to line, never any issues with fraying or knots breaking.
