Amazing Dosa, idli and chutney in United states
While we planned to move from India, we thought of buying the same product from India. After seeing and reading multiple blogs and reviews almost everyone advised to buy from United states due to voltage, plug differences. But being myself first question was what would happen if i buy this product from India and use here? Answer is simple, it will work. But it will cause overheating issues and risk associated with it. My friends who bought from India are still after six months running without any troubles but they use it for very short time and switch it off or wait until the heating drops. I believe spending little extra would leave the tension behind of fire and injury. So after purchase we are using for normal chatneys and also for dosa batter grinding which gives amazing dosa's. Being a dosa lover I cannot spend even a week in U.states without it after coming here, we haunt down the Indian store and bought Indli rice and started using this mixer. Highly recommend this product for people who look for same Indian quality but need in 110V.

Does work for all the needs of our family, just needs a bit of getting used to its limitations and working around them.
I read lot of reviews and this was recommended by one of my friend using it for long time. Here is my feedback after using this for a month. First, the watch outs, The reviews you read about the smallest jar getting messy is true. But it just needs you to make sure you add adequate (not too much) water for your grinding needs. Dry or semi solid grinding works well with that jar. For juices, there is a separate jar (Sarcasm intended). Second, it heats up a little. But again you need to watch out the load and spin. Its a mixer grinder and if we use it that way, it is cool. We use this to grind all kinds of Chutney (small jar) and dry grinds like masala powders. Works fantastic. And, we also grind idly/dosa batter with the bigger jar and that works fantastic too. I saved $160 odd I would have spent on the Ultra grinder. I have not used the juicer much because I have a smaller blender (grab and go type) I got for $17 here. Will update this review when I use it.

Waste of time for a piece of junk!
This is an extremely poorly finished product. I'm glad we bought this on Amazon so that we could send it back in a hassle free manner. The item came in a box within an outer box. When I opened the outer shipping box, I could see the inner box from the manufacturer in which the item was packed. I noted several things on that inner box. This item was supposed to come with a DVD. That description was unapologetically masked by a masking tape, probably by the seller. And when you open that inner box, the DVD is obviously missing. The maximum retail price (with taxes inclusive) that comes printed on the box was peeled off. I'm sure, that price was in Indian Rupees, because in India that's how prices are printed. No UPC code on the box either. It was Made in India. That's not the issue. In fact, we wanted an Indian Grinder that would help us in our Indian Kitchen. I'm not sure if this was meant to be sold in USA. I grew skeptical of the item once I noted these tell tale tampering signs on the box. Now coming to the item itself, I was shell shocked at the extremely poor workmanship and materials that were used in the making of this product. The lids were so tight that you have to use full force to push them in or pull them out. You have to hold the jar tight in your elbow/armpit and pull out the lid with the other hand. The lids will pop out with a jerk. Imagine doing this when you have prepared some semi-solid/liquid recipe in that jar. You are sure going to mess up your clothes and the entire kitchen. Next, the finishing of the lids is so atrocious that there are irregular chunks of plastic at many corners and along the circumferences. The circumferences are so sharp almost their entire length that you are sure going to cut your skin if you wash them in a haste. With these sharp edges and huge chunks of left over plastic during the product manufacture, you sure are asking trouble for your hands. Irony, the blades are so blunt and they are so poorly made that at least one blade already has dents on the cutting surface. I'm so disappointed that it didn't take more than a couple of minutes for me and my wife to decide that this is going back. Beggars belief that we have to spend 170 dollars and precious time to buy this piece of junk. As an Indian I'm thoroughly ashamed of this poor quality. Next, the material used for the lids and handles are so cheap and hard that they creak every time you have to force a lid in or out of the jars. And you have to kajole the lids into place on the jars with much pushing and prodding. Good riddance! Amazon is only going to damage their reputation by allowing this kind of junk from some sellers who don't seem to take pride in the products they sell or the way they do their business (masking tape on the box where it was printed Instruction DVD as one of the contents of the box, missing DVD in the box, peeled off Indian price tag, no UPC code etc..). I got return authorization and we packed it. UPS is picking it up most probably tomorrow. I generally don't take out so much time to write a review. But we are so utterly disappointed with this junk that I don't want any other Indian family or people of any nationality to waste their time on this junk. Time is just so precious. Hope this honest review helps at least one family out there in USA. I wish I could give it 5 negative stars.

Works better than my previous mixer grinder
I bought this mixer grinder for making Indian foods like Dosa, idli, appam, etc, as I need to grind rice for these. I found this grinder better than my previous one. Also, it's beneficial for grinding spices.

Pretty good but not perfect
I recently purchased the Preethi Blue Leaf platinum. Although it is a powerful grinder, it is not quiet as the DVD claims. It is rather loud but I can overlook that since it blends well. I am not too thrilled with the juicer/extractor. You must push hard to lock it into place and even then it pops up in the middle of blending. Also, the lid for the extractor does not stay tight. You must hold it down by hand with full force to keep the inner filter jar from popping out of place. I tried this for the first time today and it might be the reason I return the blender.

Strong powerful motor
Very happy with the the product. The motor is strong and powerful. My previous one of Sumeet was same configuration, but never felt that powerful from day 1. Though the plastic parts feel flimsy. Though none broke till now. Update on August 8th 2016 : The motor is no longer that strong, even though it was mild use. No longer use it, because anything grinding takes a long time, even something simple as ginger garlic paste takes an hour, with motor tripping and waiting for another 30 minutes to reset and reuse. Didn't expect such a expensive purchase to go waste so soon. Finally landed up buying a blendtec, and it does everything what this grinder and mixer could do, in not more than 2 minutes, one pot takes care of everything. You don't really need this grinder with 5 differnt pots, occupying so much space in the kitchen.
