Absolutely spectacular
Now, let it be known that I am not an audiophile. I don't do a great deal of music listening, and I don't thrive on audio devices. My knowledge of audio is (maybe) a bit above average, but I'm no guru or specialist/expert. However, I am fully aware of how devices compare to others I've tried. The responsiveness of this headset if far and away the best performing device I've used in recent memory. The inline controls respond immediately, even on my bogged-down corporate laptop. I can't believe how light weight and comfortable this device is. The sound is crystal clear, and the noise cancellation needs to be heard to be believed. For a unit that does not completely cover the outer ear, I am not bothered, at all, by the sounds of a busy lab around me. For the price, this headset is an excellent value, and I highly recommend them to anyone that requires a set for business purposes. I have not used them for entertainment, so I can't offer an opinion in that respect. For daily use at work, however, they are without compare

The perfect web conference headset!
I have just finished testing my new Sennheiser SC 60s, the sixth headset I have purchased in two years, and (at least on day one) they are far and away the best I've ever purchased for under $40. Specifically: * In music playback, they have a subjectively full-frequency response (caveat, this was not evaluated with equipment and, like everyone over 25 I do not have full-frequency hearing). * Sound isolation is moderate, as expected from on-ear rather than over-ear headphones. I wouldn't use these for high-fidelity music reproduction. * Voice recording quality, when mic boom is positioned just outside outer corner of the mouth, was excellent both for recording and over a JoinMe web conference. * Microphone noise cancellation is outstanding. During playback of a voice recording made three feet away from a fan, voice was clear, but close listening was necessary to hear the sound of the fan. Recording while one foot from the fan, with wind noise plainly audible during the recording, was reduced at playback to just a mild and undistracting sound audible behind the clear voice. * Microphone directionality permitted loud typing away on a noisy keyboard to be only barely audible behind a clear voice during playback. * Comfort is good. These headphones sit gently on the ear, but I would not want to wear them all day. * Compatibility: Headset was instantly recognized by Windows 10 computer; no other platform tested. Caveat: While these are the best headphones I have ever used for web conferencing, I don't know how long these qualities will hold up over time. I plan to update this evaluation in a year. Hello all, this is me 5 years later (apologies if you've been waiting the previous 4 years for my follow-up ;). The reviewed Sennheisers lasted 4 years before almost daily use caused the wire casing to fray just below the ear cups. They still worked perfectly, but I replaced them since a reliable headset is vital in my work. This set is just as good as the last, and I have recommended them to many clients in online teaching. To be honest—but please don't share this with Sennheiser—they'd probably be the best you could buy at US$80. The fact that they are only $40 is quite remarkable.

Clear audio
Doesnt have a senheiser quality feel as I hoped it would. Nevertheless l, audio is reportedly good and clear - so it does the job.

The headset fits well and is comfortable. It's plug and play with my Apple laptop and works properly through my keyboard's USB port. Having the remote is very useful, especially for muting the mic and it has saved me from embarrassment during web conferences from home. The headphones are better than expected but not audiophile quality (I'm sure nobody expects this to be). Also keep in mind that these do not block out outside sound. Perhaps the only downside (a minor one) is the short mic. It is not long enough to rest directly in front of my mouth, but turning up the mic input on my computer allows it to pick up the normal volume of my voice and have it audible on the other end. Other than that, the microphone is excellent and does not pick up excessive noise from the background. I have an air purifier set to the highest speed that is always turned on sitting just 4 feet away from me and it is not picked up by the microphone. I've tested this with a voice recording software and listened to the playback in silence (with the air purifier turned off). Just for comparison, I have an Olympus WS-823 voice recorder and that device picks up the sound of the air purifier from the other end of the room; a distance of 15 feet. In essence, if you are looking for a headset with an emphasis on mic quality and comfort because you are planning on wearing this for extended periods of time, this is a very good choice and perhaps the best choice in this price range. If a sound quality is more important than the microphone, maybe a gaming headset would be a better choice.

This is the perfect conference call headset-and I've tried a lot of them
I bought my first pair of Sennheisers about 5 years ago. The quality is so good I also record a podcast on it. I am on Zoom as the CEO of a services company some 6-8 hours a day-both before and during the pandemic. I have since issued these headphones to anyone in my company who needs a pair. They're phenomenal. And it's not just "good for the price" -- recently the foam earpads got just so worn out I set out to see if I could "upgrade." I tried every one of Wirecutter's picks and none of them had the mic quality this one does for the price. It absolutely kills background noise (all but the worst of it). Think gas powered lawn mowers, dryers, etc. the boom is adjustable too. I wear glasses and the headset doesn't hurt my ears after being worn for hours. I've also really abused these things, thrown them in backpacks for travel without a case, and they just keep going. if Sennheiser wold just sell me some foam ear pads I'd probably just replace those. This thing is THAT good. I tried headsets that cost 10x what this costs--and the mic quality was nowhere as good. Those other headsets also don't let you wear the mic on the left side if you wish, nor do they have a cord that's as long as this one, with an inline control. I like being able to mute with a button on the line vs fiddling with my headset on a video call. It's distracting to people. On top of it, I don't look like an air traffic controller because the ear pieces are not large. Even music from my laptop sounds just fine. I really did try to replace these with something "better"- but in the end, I couldn't do it. I tried to spend a lot more money but nothing was as good as these. It almost never happens anymore that you get a great product at such a great price. Thanks, Sennheiser! I don't know how they can do this for the price, but I'm glad they can.

Nice workable headset.
Bought it for work . It worked just great for what I wanted it for. I just wanted my own headphone as I've got issues with using something others have used or is using. Ppl r filthy. It's very easy to carry back n forth daily, it's USB so no charging required just plug it on n ur good to go. I like it n would definitely recommend.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Works Perfectly. Not quite as comfortable as they could have made it.
IMPORTANT UPDATE 10/21/2021 After having used this headset for a little more than two years, I noticed that starting about 6 months ago or more, the cable connecting the headset to the computer started to oddly degrade. I have never seen this before in my entire life of using electronic devices. The rubber coating of the cable started to literally fall apart in various sections and started to expose the shielding and in some cases, the underlying wires themselves! I don't know if this was a manufacturing defect or just the Sennheiser product team making a very poor decision about the quality or manufacturer of the cable for these headphones. I would not purchase this headset again and may not purchase any Sennheiser headsets again after this experience. As a point of comparison, I have had a less expensive Logitech headset last since 2013 and the only problem it has has was the ear cushions soft fake material peeling off (very common). I use this unit every day at work with Webex and Windows. It works perfectly, has a mute button with a very small red LED, and a volume up and down button. You can't disconnect the cord, however, that didn't matter to me. The unit is very lightweight. The only reason I will give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they could have done a much better job on the foam padding to allow this to be much more comfortable for long wearability. It's not uncomfortable but could have used thicker and better shaped (round) foam.

Very comfortable, reasonably priced, and software compatible headset.
I purchased this Headset for a job from home that I accepted in November of 2015. Having used another headset at a company before on a fairly regular basis, I knew what I was looking for. I wanted a lightweight and comfortable USB headset with basic controls for volume, mute, etc. I looked at a lot of different types and ruled out headsets that cover the ear completely as I wanted to hear ambient sounds around me. I came across some very good reviews for Sennheiser so I decided to see what they offered. They have some very high quality and much more expensive headsets that are designed for long periods of time of use. So, I went through their catalog and found this more entry level, lower priced headset which at the time, was on sell. So far, it has been excellent in every area however I look out for the point of the USB connection itself. There is a small plastic piece that keeps the wire from bending but it does slide up and away sometimes. Other than that, I have no complaints. I have worn the headset for up to eight hours in a day and it did not cause any irritation of my ears. The microphone picks up my voice perfectly and is also very good at not picking up background noise. I have also had no issues with compatibility with any software I have used it with even a custom made VoIP/SIP application that we worked on using specific MS drivers. I would recommend this headset for anyone.
