Brooks Men's Beast '20 Supportive Running Shoe

Review by Bob: I have had several pairs of Beasts since the turn of century due to recommendations from a top-notch running shop for my bad knees (Im not a runner). Having developed some foot issues over those years, I left Beasts for a slightly softer, more neutral shoe. Its been maybe 5-6 years since then and I am back to the Beasts — this time with a vengeance! From the moment I slipped into these 20’s, I knew they were right. I don’t know if its me or the shoes, but I am in love! They support my knees beautifully (both have been replaced), but now the Beasts also cradle and support my feet in a way that can only be described as “gently firm”. VERY supportive, and yet somehow remarkably comfortable as if they were molded specifically for my feet. I hate that shoemakers always change models, so I ordered a second pair asap. Brooks, please keep making this one - you may have just found perfection. PS - Tread is deep and seems lugged almost for trail running. Like all-season tires, they appear perfect for all conditions. PPS - The trim around the foot opening looks and feels extremely well made. Like the rest of shoe, it’s the perfect combination of solidity and softness.

The shoe is great! Were to start? Im a big supporter of this shoe and was sold on then over 20 years ago and till find no other sneaker can touch them. Let start with the comfort, durability, foot and body support. My feet,ankles,knees, hip and back are totally supported by your feet and you need a good solid shoe with total support. The brooks beats from the first I tried them on I was sold on the comfort and the comfort today is the same as it was over 20 years ago. With all company cutiing corner on the product we buy Brooks stands to be committed to giving you that same support today as they were over 20 years ago. These are running shoe and I don't run but the support I can not stress enough is well wort the price. Foot Drs recomend the shoe from true oath foot support. Cons: The shoe runs small due to all the support all around the shoe. I normally wear 11.5 in shows but with the beats you will need togo up a whole size to12.5.Its not a bad con if you under stand the shoe and the support built into the shoe and have the knowlege of it ahead of time to save you from having to exchange your purchase. I've owned more than ten Brooks products over the years, and though I've purchased other runners, I've always gone back to Brooks for comfort and stability. My "go to" model is the "Beast." I've had experience with the Beast from my running days to my current older age slower pace. The Beast has crossed over nicely. I'm the type of guy who tends to keep and use my sports shoes way too long, and then they are transitioned to "yard work" regulars with new inserts. The Beast has filled the bill for either/any role I choose for it. My new Beast is very comfortable (as usual) and fits my lifestyle perfectly. I highly recommend the Brooks Beast as the most dependable and comfortable sport shoe available. A+++!

Got these for my son because he struggles with flat feet and foot pain. He was skeptical at first, but they quickly became his go-to shoes because they really helped with comfort and support. Pros: ✔ Huge improvement for foot pain – He noticed a difference right away ✔ Comfortable & supportive – Wore them almost daily ✔ Good fit for everyday wear Cons: • Didn’t last as long as expected – After 8 months, they are falling apart. • A bit pricey for the lifespan – Had to replace them sooner than I’d like Overall, these are fantastic for foot support, but I wish they held up longer. If you need a solid shoe for flat feet, they’re worth it—just don’t expect them to last forever.

I have been running for about 25 years. I purchased the Beast shoe back in 03 or so, and it was a good shoe but lasted about only 6 months until it gets wet. Then it just fell apart. After that experience, I would no longer pay 130$ + for shoes because you could get something at Walmart for cheap that would last about that long. Fast forward 20 years to today, everything about this shoe has gotten better. It no longer falls apart if you get caught in the rain or severely sweat during a run. They no longer festoon the shoe with silly painted on designs that wear off after one day of use. The number one reason this shoe gets a 10 in my book is because of the cushioning, mainly the material they use to build the entire part of the shoe under the foot. It is very rigid/stiff and not painfully squishy like the old shoes. It gives support at just the right tension so it feels like you are just running and not having to put up with some sort of material. I am at about 8 months jogging with this shoe and it still performs like new, and im not just saying that. Another issue they fixed is that the padding matieral behind the ankle would always wear out and expose hard plastic parts within the shoe that would eventually make the ankle bleed and render the shoe useless. So far this Beast 20 is not succumbing to that, which is usually a design flaw in all running shoes to this day. Its breathable, flexible, and stiff. I am not interested in trying thier 23 version, as they usually change the "LAST" with each iteration for some stupid reason. Brooks nailed the perfect running/jogging shoe, and I hope they sell the 2020 beast for many years to come.

Great shoe for all day working in the hospital as a bedside RN. I have plantar fasciitis and were orthotics too. These shoes felt good throughout my 5K runs also. I a wider toe box using my Hoka Gaviota 3, and 4, but the support feels comparable. I've added these shoes in my rotation of work and running shoes.

Comfortable,fit was spot on

Brooks Beast shoes have been my go-to shoe for over a decade. They have always been a good performer, and that hasn't changed. What has noticeably changed is the materials used in their construction - Cheap and flimsy. For a premium shoe, at a premium price, and in this usage-class, it's a clear case of cost reduction.

Excellent shoe, great support and feel nice to run in.

Las primeras que compro de esta marca. El mismo dia que me llegaron me puse para caminar y lo mejor de todo es que no me las he quitado en toda la tarde. Me resulta mucho mejor para caminar, que otros zapatos planos y sin caída. El motivo es la fascitis plantar que tengo en el pie derecho. Con este zapato lo que he notado hoy, es mucho menos dolor, ya de entrada! Estoy muy contento porque hoy he caminado mas que muchos otros dias!

I really love how Brooks has extra wide shoes which I need thanks to my wide feet. I use these for running 5km runs and am very happy with them. The colours here are a unique combination and they look good. Another thing which is kind of small but important to me is that I don’t need to double knot the laces: single knots are enough and they haven’t come undone for me. Other running shoes I’ve had are not as fortunate on that point.
