VERY Fine Point!
I was stunned at how fine the lines are with this pen. I haven't noticed any skipping at all, writing is very smooth, and the ink generally dries pretty quickly. The pen casing itself feels high quality and durable. It's not uncomfortable to hold.

Awesome pen!
This is a great pen although I just got it, I can tell it works great and is awesome for my Bible journaling! As you can see in the picture, the font is much smaller and far more readable! It writes smooth, is very comfortable in my hand and feels very durable, the grip is awesome and I’ve had no problems with smearing yet!

Nice Pen
An amazing pen! What I’ve found with a lot of pens of this diameter is that the ink tends to coagulate a lot quicker and does involve sporadic skipping because of the smaller surface area. Something to get used to as it doesn’t happen very often. With that being said this pen is great, the construction is nice, and once the ink is flowing appropriately it writes extremely well. There is minimal movement that comes when the tip touches the paper and the clip is very easy to use unlike other pens and pencils. I am left handed, and certain pens release too much ink. This one gives just the right amount so it doesn’t look faded, but also not too much to where my hand smears it. Very much a specialty pen that should be used for fine writing and some nice note taking. I wouldn’t recommend to use for quick on the go writing. Something like a 0.5 mm diameter pencil would be the lowest threshold for jotting down something rapidly. Hope this review helps!

Great pen if you're careful with the paper
I bought this for the same reason as many others - comfortable metal body, fine line, refillable therefore reusable, attractive design, and the pen does all that. I use it for sketching and there's only so far you can "push" this pen; meaning that if you want faint construction lines this pen is perfect, however if you want to darken and reveal a sketch then you may want another, separate liner as this pen can only darken "so much" even with multiple passes. With different pens I've used this isn't so much the case but it is an opposite trade-off: for instance with a typical gel pen, your construction lines or guide lines will be much darker than with the Jetstream but when you do finally get to the final inking of a sketch, you can darken chosen lines much better. With this in mind, I do think the Jetstream has the edge as for me, faint thin line are what I wanted to sketch in, and it's probably why you're viewing it and checking reviews. The only caveat, and it's a big one for me which brings me to a point of frustration high enough that I might just stop using the Jetstream, is its inability to perform in my chosen sketchbook. The pen struggles with paper that is suitable for watercolor, to the point that you could make a single continuous stroke across the entirety of a page and get maybe a centimeter of ink to flow. It really is "that" bad. It's usable if you're concentrating really really hard and don't mind going back over the "trench" that the pen gouges into your paper, but it's not fun and makes a drawing look amateurish. This pen "looks" like, and actually performs like, a pen you'd use before a watercolor sketch, but I guess not. However, I switched to a different sketchbook, that is to say a typical sketching book with 80 gsm paper that has just a little bit of "bite," and it's fine. Somewhat inconvenient that I now have a pen and book that won't interact, but it's ok. In this arena the pen is pretty much perfect for what I want. I actually went ahead and bought the red and blue refills, I want other pen bodies so that I don't need to swap cartridges when I'm ready to accent in blue but that's my next point. The pen is expensive. Like, really expensive for what you get. This is Rotring territory, but certainly doesn't act like one. And the fact that there's no included refills is a huge minus in my opinion. All in all, if you can justify the price, get the right paper, and want an attractive "forever pen," this is it. Useful for sketching and I would presume for journaling or note taking it's even better. Overall for me is a 4* value though, because of the price and lack of refills.

Almost a great pen
As a self-professed pen enthusiast, I was very interested in this product. Upon receiving it, I found myself somewhat pleased. The pen has a good heft to it, and it feels comfortable in my hand. I particularly appreciate the extremely fine point, as I have small handwriting. However, my enthusiasm is hampered by the fact that, regrettably, I can only award this product a three-star review. Despite its commendable heft and appealing knurled texture, the pen falls short in its writing performance. I've encountered difficulties, especially when signing receipts, as I have yet to complete a signature without interruption. Additionally, pressing too hard can result in paper tearing, which is a notable drawback. I am contemplating a potential trade for the .38 tip in the hope that it may deliver a more satisfactory writing experience.

Great super-fine line
Excellent metallic body offering some heft to people who like that. Extra fine line, without skipping and rather smooth for the extra fine point. The imprint is a bit pale. I rarely chose Pentel over Uni, but in this category of sub-0.3 I'd recommend Pentel Slicci 0.25 if you desire darker imprint. However, the Uni metallic body is a big plus on its own and it's very functional. Relatively small/miniature refills (I'd like them a bit bigger with more ink).

I felt in love with Jetstream pens some time ago, with very black colour, smooth writing, permanent ink etc. I started collecting all their different tip sizes and colours. Although I try all different tip sizes, I have always been more of fine pen tip person, therefore I have been using 0.38 more lately until one day I found out Amazon sells 0.28 tip. The price was another level, plus shipping cost and waiting to arrive from overseas.. I read all the reviews before ordering, including translated ones from other countries. From the reviews, I knew the pen was not as light as the other types of Jetstream pens, and some people mentioned the tip was so fine, that it rips paper.. I have 0.2 mechanical pencil that gets caught by paper texture, keeps breaking pencil leads, instead lead breaking, I thought paper gets tears for this pen. Anyway, I still made the order to try, and after a few hiccups with UPS delivery, (wasn't worth paying UPS for extra shipping, very disappointed), finally the pen arrived. The bottom one third of the pen where you grip the pen feels like metal, aluminium if I have to guess, so the whole pen is slightly heavier than typical plastic pens. I don't like heavy or thick body pens, but this is bottom heavy, it feels more stable, thankfully the weight doesn't bother me too much. What bothered me a little in the beginning was that it felt like I have to hold the pen somewhat a bit more vertical than what I was used to with other pens. As the tip was so fine, if I hold the pen the way I used to with other pens, it doesn't glide well, but after a few days of annoyance, now I somewhat got into holding the pen that glides ok. And so far, I haven't had any issues with tearing paper when I am writing, it glides well. I haven't had any issues with paper, but the tip so fine, when I got confused with the tip with the top where you push the tip in and out, once I ended up having the tip in my thumb. Ouch. So to cut the long story short, if you like fine tip pens, try this pen.

This pen is wonderful. Extremely fine line, 0.28, and the ink runs smoothly. It was slightly scratchy when i first used it, but it was also cold so i warmed up the pen between my palms for 30 seconds to get the ink flowing and its been fine. Even when writing at a quick pace. Im very happy so ive bought a 0.38 version too. Highly recommend this item.
