Super Hydrating, cats love it!
Hydra by Purina has literally prolonged the life of three of my chronic kidney disease cats, by 2 to 3 years. Why? Because the hydration is so concentrated, it’s the equivalent of five times the amount of water they would drink, plus it has additional nutrients. I also give it to my outside cat, who is homeless, that I feed morning and night to keep him hydrated in the elements. This product has been a lifesaver for me, and my cats. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Great for older cats, excellent way to sneak them some miralax powder when needed (ask vet!)
SO far over 3 households - only one cat wasn't excited about having this "tasty gravy". In smaller than the recommended "therapeutic" quantity - it's just a nice source of a little extra hydration. Really love it for my old guy who needs 1/4 tsp of Miralax daily - and doesn't always finish all of his canned food. A tsp or Tbsp of Hydracare gets licked down to nothing. Sometimes it takes adding a treat or 2 - but it's easy to KNOW that he's gotten the full full dose by just looking at the bowl - no extra coaxing required! My seller Xcess Limited - was very accommodating when there was a small problem with one shipment - likely an "in transit" issue. Happy to be ordering from them again - great price too! :)

Seemed good, but hard to evaluate
My cat was already pretty far gone when our vet recommended these. Renal failure, stomach cancer, and some other minor ailments left her weak and uninterested in either food or water. We tried giving her one of these and she lapped up the entire package, showing the most enthusiasm I'd seen from her in weeks, and seemed a little happier for a little while afterwards. However, I tried giving her a new pouch the next day and she barely touched it, nor any other pouch I attempted for the remaining week of her life. What to make of that? Well, I think it's a positive sign that a dying cat with no interest in food or water would give it that much of a shot. But only making it through one pouch, I really can't say if it would have had any desired long term effect. It's not cheap, but at least the flavor seems genuinely appealing to cats and it's very easy to serve (just open a pouch and pour it into a small bowl), so it might be a good option for dehydrated cats that are picky about what they eat.

Cats love it
My cats really enjoy this product. In fact, they wouldn't eat their food sometimes unless I poured some of it on top. I had a cat who had a large basal cell carcinoma underneath her tongue, which could not be removed. This made it difficult for her to eat and drink, but we found this product to be the only thing she could drink without any difficulty. I tried so many different things for her to eat, but she would sniff it then walk away. With this poured over it, she would eat until this product was gone and would continue to eat the soft food underneath. This product also hydrates, which was good for her because she had a hard time drinking from a bowl or fountain. Great product, would definitely recommend.

Works well!
This product helped my kitty in his last few weeks of life. I came home from a vacation and the cat sitter said he did fine but he was 20 years old and not doing well. I took him to the vet and they recommended this product. I gave it to him immediately and he perked up …Got back to his old self within a few days. I believe in nutrients in it work really well or there’s something else in it that gave him a lot of energy. I’m not a fan of large pet food companies because they put a lot of fillers and garbage into their food, according to a lot of the research posted on the good old Internet. So who can never be sure, but this seems to have really helped My sweet strong kitty during his last few weeks with us.

The product I didn't know I needed!
After a recent vet visit I was shocked to find out one of my boys was very dehydrated. I feed him wet food with added water daily along with multiple locations for water access. I started using this and at his 3 week checkup his hydration was excellent along with other markers that were out of whack due to the dehydration. I now have all 3 of my furballs taking this to ensure they're getting the hydration they need. All 3 lap this up with no turned up noses. It did take one a little more time to accept the packets so I mixed some baby food in at first and now he happily takes to them without the baby food. A bit expensive, yes. Especially if you have multiple cats. I choose to think about the money I'm saving avoiding vet visits and possible complications that would cost wayyyy more in the long run. Lastly, I know the instruction recommend feeding this twice a day but for me one pouch a day did more than enough. Keep in mind I do feed them wet food with added water daily so if your feeding is similar to mine, one packet a day may be all the boost you need

JUNK!
For anyone familiar with brewer's yeast, you'll know that it's VERY cheap! This product is primarily brewer's yeast and most cats can't tolerate it at all. BUT, vet's continue to recommend it to their pet clients and the pets get sick. Well, backtrack some years ago and all vitamins on store shelves had brewer's yeast in them. I had a prescription prenatal vitamins I had to take every day and guess what? I had morning sickness throughout my pregnancy AND afterwards! Yup, it was the brewer's yeast that was making me very sick! Since then, you'll notice the words on the labels of vitamins stating, "No Yeast." The industry learned quickly they were losing sales because most people couldn't tolerate the yeast. So, I ask ..why on earth are vet's recommending this product that is nothing more than cheap brewer's yeast to our cats? And, lordy! The price tag is outrageous! Don't buy this for your cat(s) just because your vet recommends it. This is a terrible product for cars. Sure, humans body intolerance to yeast MIGHT be different for cats, but not likely that much! Don't buy this product. Look for a probiotic that doesn't contain this horrible yeast in it.
