Addressed Two Issues at Once
Two problems I've had with my DIY screwing/drilling work were: 1) Being unable to hold a screw in place while trying to install it with a powered drill and 2) Having drill collar clearance problems in tight spots. These bits solved both of those. The magnetic bits allow me to keep the screw in place as I'm positioning the drill while holding the part being attached, especially when there is not enough room for my fingers to hold the screw. The longer shanks on the bits allowed me to feed the screws into tight places, but be able to keep the collar far enough back that it stayed out of the tight work area. The last job I used them on was installing brackets to hold blinds inside my windows. The brackets have a top to screw into and a bottom that holds the blind and has holes to go through for installing the screws. Regular screwdriver bits are too short, but these were the perfect length. Having the magnetic bits allowed me to free up one hand to hold the bracket in place. I can't speak to the durability yet, as I have not used them extensively, but so far, so good.. These bits helped me finish the job much faster and to keep my bad language in check.
