What a deal!
I needed one to use as my Recovery Tool Kit USB flash drive for fixing computers. I learned about USB hardware write protection and when I found this, after seeing a similar one by a different manufacturer, with the same capacity, for ~$50, I decided I had to have one of these. I currently use Ventoy with about 15 bootable .iso/.img files. I was told by the AI that a physical switch is the most reliable form of write protection on a USB flash drive. This prevents cross contamination of devices by malware which can write to non-write protected drives and then sequentially writes onto the next connected devices.

MUST HAVE ITEM FOR TRAVEL. GREAT FIND.
Fantastic drive. Very rare to have a "write protect" switch, which....if you're travelling, and your thumb drive is gonna be "promiscuous" with cyber cafes computers wherever and whatnot. And NO! you don't need to pay $40-$70 for the same capacity drive, to a "national cybersecurity certified homeland watchdog agency approved black-helicopter protected" model which also carries a "write protect" switch. This drive's packaging shows Netac is a well established company of provenance, with a clear address for it's place of business, clear model number and serial number, and multiple EU and international product certifications. All at a VERY decent price. The only caveat is that the "slider" write protect switch is a moving part, and when it comes to electronics, moving parts do wear....but the OTHER brand has same problem at a higher price.

It works, it boots, it write-protects
Pro: I was able to make this 64GB stick bootable using ventoy 1.0.36, at least to boot Linux images. No problem, it just worked. The switch makes it write protected, as advertised. That's what I needed. It stores more and is faster than my ancient thumb drives with a write protect switch. Con: Raw capacity is 58GB. A 1TB Crucial SSD I set up advertised 1000GB and that's what it had. This thing is short, but most USB flash drives are. The USB3 speed is pretty sad. Yes it is faster than USB 2.0. But that is mostly just the cache, especially when writing. The flash is really slow and if you are writing a lot (like a 2GB ISO image, or 10...) then you soon fill up the cache and you might as well go have dinner because you will not want to wait for it. Boot speed is far faster than a CD, so there's that. It is quite expensive for a not fast, 64GB drive that holds 58GB. Conclusion: Ask yourself, how much of a premium do you want to pay for a write protect switch? You can get faster and cheaper flash drives. I like AData. But those do not have a write protect switch. That switch is literally the only reason I would consider buying this drive. And for that, I bought two.

Better Than Advertised – Great Performance and Reliable Read-Only Mode (for now)
Works as expected, with solid performance. The manufacturer claims read/write speeds of R90/W30, but in my testing, I achieved R135/W41, which is excellent. The read-only mode also functions as intended. We’ll see how it holds up in the long run, but so far, so good. Here is some info: Protocol Version: USB 3.20 Current Speed: High Speed Max Current: 496mA USB Device ID: VID = 0DD8 PID = 2004 Device Vendor: Netac Device Name: OnlyDisk Device Revision: 0110 Manufacturer: Netac Product Model: OnlyDisk

Survived a trip in the washing machine
Speed and reliability have been two plusses for me with this drive. But one unexpected bonus is that, with the cap on, it survived a trip in the washing machine. Not exactly the way one should treat a flash drive, but I was happy to see it was still usable after that misadventure!

Seems to be R/O, time will tell.
Seems to be R/O, time will tell. Does not work with Raspberry PI 3B+ (-1 star). Low (<20MB/s) transfer speed (-1 star). I evaluate build quality based on how the drive holds up over time. 3/5 - Will revise later.

Certainly USB 3.0 speed about 190MB/s read and 90MB/s write
I normally don't write a review but because there are so many reviews about slow speed, I just wanted to share my case. It was indeed USB 3.0 speed. Crystal Disk Mark shows >150MB/s sequential write but I doubt it. My real-world file copy in Windows Explorer between SSD and this USB stick showed 190MB/s read and 90MB/s write in a sequential very large file copy. For this price and the unique "write-protect" switch, this product has a good value. The red access LED is very easy to see but not too bright for eyes, which is also good. The physical quality looks chap though.

I purchased this for the lock feature... I don't like plugging in a flash (usb) drive into a device and have the device add crap to the drive. Now, only the device that I copied the files from (mainly windows), writes crap (system volume information), and once locked, I don't have to worry about plugging it into android or whatever system and have them add stuff that I'm not interested in getting).

I purchased the Netac 64GB USB Flash Drive 3.0 (U335S) on September 26, 2023, and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance and quality. From the moment I plugged it in, I was impressed by the incredibly fast data transfer speeds, thanks to the USB 3.0 interface. Moving large files and backing up my documents is now a breeze. The design is another standout feature. The ABS housing body feels robust and durable, protecting the drive from everyday wear and tear. Its compact size makes it easy to carry around in my pocket or attach to my keychain, ensuring I always have my important files with me. Compatibility is seamless. I’ve used it across multiple devices, including my laptop, desktop, and even my car's audio system, without any issues. It works perfectly with both USB 3.0 and older USB 2.0 ports, which is a huge plus. Overall, this Netac flash drive offers excellent value for the price. It’s reliable, fast, and well-built. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a dependable storage solution!
