Sony SSCS5 3-Way 3-Driver Bookshelf Speaker System (Black) Bundle with Isolation Pads (2 Items)

I wanted a nice set of speakers to replace the ones I blew out by playing them loud with a amp that did not live up to its specs. I liked these Sony's because they are 3-ways. Most other bookshelf speakers are now 2-way. I also bought a 100 watt Sony receiver from Amazon to go along with my new speakers. The combination has proved enduring. Besides listening to music while I exercise, I also play my drum set along to relatively loud music. These speakers are handling it. I had to get used to these new speakers. Sound wise the 3-way is very accurate in producing tones. However, a little more in the high range than the bass. I am a tweaker. Which means I will play with bass and treble till I get it to work with my styles of music, then I leave it set. (Ok, I still do tweak occasionally). Some reviews said the bass was weak, but after playing around a bit with setting, positioning, and raising the speakers on a set of stands, they sound great. I can hear the bass in a song by Dua Lippa. I can hear the subtleties in other softer music. They are a great set of speakers, without shredding your wallet.

Outstanding speakers!!! Clear and have great bass. Im using them with my turntable setup. If these are considered budget speakers. I would buy them time and time again.

For the price, they are great. BUT for a smaller space. They won’t fill a room well but are perfect for a desk area or bedroom

Sony packaging was excellent for shipping. Seller put the product in a plain unprinted shipping box. Extra cushion packing to prevent damage. Arrived very quickly, three days after order was placed. I will do future orders with this seller.

I bought these because the animated Youtuber with a stubby beard and coffee lover, who comments on speakers, rated this product highly. With me, he has lost all credibility. I was disappointed as these speakers lack punch...nearly all midrange. The tweeters are so weak I regard the as defective and by no means full range. If you like a flat response, or want to fiddle with an EQ, you might be happy with these as the price is only $129 with foam pads included. I sent them back.

For the price these are the best bookshelf speakers around! Well known amongst audiophiles, pity they have been discontinued.

Fantastic Sound with a good bass which I didn't expect will be that good. it cost less for the quality of sound.
