Hipshot Grip-Lock Vintage 6 Inline Bass Side Staggered Closed 8.5mm Tuners with Universal Mounting Plate, Black

I've used Hipshot locking tuners on my guitar builds for years and always been happy with their performance. I particularly like the mounting plates which hold the tuners tight without having to drill new holes in the headstock. It's especially nice for guitars that you may want to sell or return to original one day. Unfortunately, I didn't notice these were staggered, so they wouldn't work in my application. That's my fault, not the tuners, and now I have a spare set in the drawer when I need them.

Fits perfectly on my strat. Guitar stays in tune now. Easy to install.

Had to make squire holes bigger..

Really easy to change and replace vintage fender tuners.

I added these to a signature Cort guitar. The Cort guitars usually have a 10mm peg hole. Since I did not plan on drilling a single hole for the screw, I ended up using painter's tape around the peg (2 wraps) and it keeps the pegs in place after full installation. This isn't on Hipshot, but Cort. The staggered heights are a bit different from the ratio (on the Cort) than what Hipshot has. Either way, I don't notice any slipping and the string angle is good. I'm happy with the price I got these since the 10mm ones are hard to come by at the price I acquired these 8.5mm. And I'm VERY happy.

This is update to my previous negative reply. Tuners arrived quickly as advertised, size was what I ordered. Thought I received the 10mm tuners but the 8.5 tuners didn’t fit either. My fault! However I enlarged the holes and they fit perfectly. Great product and fast service.
