Trangia Gas Butane Burner GB74

Vroom! This is a great piece of kit. If you have the other larger Trangias then you should pick up this burner too. We spent 2 weeks camping in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone -- first half we just used alcohol then we used this jet. The simmer on the burner isn't bad as well. Actually, we brought 4 stoves with us on that trip because I wanted to see what each could do. This performs beautifully. Simmer (check). Boil (check). Jet Engine (check). Well, for that last one it's easy to call out because compared to any alcohol stove a butane or propane stove is going to be loud. But it really wasn't that bad. And sounds can be forgiven if you when hot food and coffee are on the line. The stove itself is a neat bit of kit. It fits snuggly in our Trangia 25 and didn't leak any fuel. We had another stove set up with us that when you screwed in the canister would squelch off some fuel. Not a peep from the Trangia. I do wish the hose was a wee bit longer; there was a better warming tube for use while ice camping; and maybe a flat valve fixture for inverted useage... but then again I have other stoves for that. Since, the Trangia has become my go to stove and most of our camping is in 3-season or mild winter it doesn't really matter.

A great add-on for our Trangia sets. Light weight and small packing. Great for colder days when alcohol doesn’t vaporize well.

Impressive!! I purchased the Lixada Camping Stove Adapter to go with this so that I could use the standard Coleman propane cylinders. Tested it out tonite with my Trangia 27 cooking system and was very pleased. Boiled two cups of water and used 13 grams of propane. I didnt time it but was fast enough for me, and then some.. Was also pleased with the ease of adjusting the burner to a simmer. All in all, a very good system that works well and integrates into the cook set without a hitch. I didnt find anything complicated or difficult with this, nothing to not like. Now, if spring would only get here so I could take it out camping--..

Plenty of fire, this little burner gets the job done . Fits in my Bushbox LF and in the Bushbox XL - way too hot for the LF with it cranked all the way up - I would use it in the larger boxes but you can definitely get the job done with this on any box that takes the alcohol stove- firebox/Bushbox are the two that come to mind. No issues with liquid feeding- once it’s warmed up and the preheat pipe is nice and hot, liquid feed works just fine with no pulsing when the fuel can is inverted.

I'm a huge fan of the Trangia 'storm cooker' system, and own both the 25 and 27-series kits. The alcohol burner is good for heating things, but the flame really isn't adjustable. This well made snap-in burner adds much needed flame control for serious cooking. You can simmer for cooking small items, or go full-roar for fast heating of large volumes of water for things like pasta. Highly recommended.

I was hoping this burner would be a change from the jet engine sound of my Pocket Rocket or my Dragonfly. When I lit it up to test tonight, I knew this will be my favorite stove. It's silent just like the beloved Trangia alcohol burners. I live in California where it's almost impossible to find alcohol thanks to all the insane environmental laws. Otherwise I would have never abandoned my alcohol burners. My Trangia 27 UL windscreen has a hole which is to small to pass the gas hose through and it my tiny brain forever to figure out how to get it through the first time.

This burner snaps in place into Trangia's 25 and 27 cook sets as well as into Esbit's CSE2530WN cook set (which I use this with). This Gas Burner will also snap into other suitable stands that accept the Trangia/Esbit Alcohol burners as a "drop down into the circle" and have enough weight to them (e.g., Trangia Spirit Stove Stand) to prevent easy upset if you move the canister/hose a bit. The design of the cook set-burner 'system' affords liquid mode feed for broader temperature range use. Using this burner affords a more forceful and stronger flame, so a 'more powerful' and more 'spread-out' cooking heat than the Trangia or Esbit Alcohol Burner. While this burner provides that more powerful heat, its design also allows for a turning it to a reasonable level for simmering as well. Now with Trangia's or Esbit's cook sets you can have the best of both worlds (Alcohol or Butane/Propane Canister) for cooking.

So far, so good. I bought this to add the option to use camp gas/butane in my Firebox Nano stove. On Firebox's website they show the stove with the heatshield removed. I found with just a bit of trimming the stove fits fine with the headshield installed. So far I've been using the 8oz butane cans and they work well. I haven't had a chance to test them in very low temps yet, but at early fall temps - 40F - the flame is easily adjustable and steady. Definitely a good addition.

I have a Trangia 25-2 set for family camping that we use in our Robens Klondike - this used over other stoves due to it's relative safety whilst cooking inside the tent so I was eager to see how this gas burner fit in with that. using the meth's burner is simplicity itself and you can see how much fuel you have used which is useful but in almost every other way this gas burner beats it hand down! It's quicker for a start - much quicker, and roars away like a jet engine on full whack - suddenly cooking methods like frying are much easier, simmering is much easier with gas burner too and easier to adjust whilst on the go and with no burnt fingers, if you run out of gas whilst cooking you can just unscrew the old canister and attach a new one - no waiting for anything to cool down first. Tip;- Gas canister stoves are known for poor performance in the cold but due to the remote feed on this burner you can turn the canister upside down effectively liquid fueling your stove and greatly increase it's performance in deep cold.

Für Fondue war der Spiritusbrenner nicht stark genug. Der Gasbrenner funktioniert perfekt und die Temperatur lässt sich fast aufs Grad genau einstellen. Einfach zu installieren und der Transportbeutel passt gut in das Kochset, so dass man nicht ‚zwei Sachen‘ verstauen muss.

Mi ero stufato della fuliggine che si crea con l'utilizzo del fornello ad alcol, avrei dovuto acquistarla prima mi sarei risparmiato il fastidio di girare con le mani nere durante alcuni bivacchi. Funziona e si installa egregiamente nel set Trangia
