KeySmart CleanKey (1-pack)

This has a solid feel, the brass content has a nice weight to it, practical and a great fidget toy. The size fits nicely clipping inside the pocket, attached to a keychain, or tucked into the coin pocket of jeans. Great value for the money so you don't have to touch gross handles at the store!

A bit heavy but its perfect for what I need, easy to open, doesnt open on its own so it wont catch on things like other door grabbers do, and has a strong feel. A very well built tool.

Pluses: well made, optional belt clip included, integrated bottle opener. Surfaces that will contact door handle are covered when retracted. It can hook a larger door handle than a one piece key size opener (see photo for comparison.) Minuses: at 3.3 ounces / 94 grams it equals the weight of my key ring, keys and Leatherman Micra combined. Good thing it comes with a belt clip! The button pushing bump on the end is exposed to your skin when not in use, but still transfers less material than using your fingertip. However, bare metal will not work with capacitive touch screens, you’ll want a separate stylus for that. The grip is less assured than an opener with a finger hole, although if you have it on your key ring the keys will provide more purchase to pull on a heavy door. Subtracted one star for weight. I carry it separately from my keys, using the belt hook. I often leave it at home in favor of a 1 oz bottle of hand sanitizer.

I love this key. I also bought a pack of four for my kid's, and was very disappointed in them. This one is made well, thick strong metal. Heavy enough to open doors, and enough your hand does not come in contact with the surface. The attachment is also well made, stretches to a good length, and retracts back. The attachment clips on, or attaches to a belt loop, It is great, I have told my friends and relatives about this amazing key. A great gift. Do not get the 4 in a pack. They are much smaller, thinner, and even pushing buttons on an atm, or elevator, you have too be really careful not to touch the surface because they are so small. Thank you for a great safety tool.

It looked like a fun over-engineered novelty. It is and was. The spring BROKE on the second day of playing with it. That's the only reason I'm bothering to write this review. But the tool remains as practical and functional as before. Probably not worth it for most people. But I love to fidget with it. It is pretty heavy though.

Excellent hook, button pusher, and touch screen stylus to minimize contact of common public surfaces. Not too big and not too small; can be carried in the pocket and still handle any size door. The retractable cord attachment is a bonus must have.

I've been very happy with my purchase. The CleanKey is much more convenient than my prior door handle tool (a woodworking spring clamp), comfortable to use, and to boot, self sanitizing due to its material. I use a Nite Ize mini carabiner to keep it on my keychain, for easy removal when needed. I bought this one with the lanyard, since it came free, and was $5 cheaper than a non-lanyard variant of the same CleanKey sold locally! I've tried it on touchscreens and buttons, and the awkwardness isn't worth it for me, I tend to just get the alcohol ready and sanitize my hands afterwards...it's generally time anyway, after having been shopping and grabbing various things, or when I'm paying for my food and about to be eating. The CleanKey is 0.215" thick, 1.352" tall, and 3.625" long. For reference, that's about 1/4" longer than a credit card, and about 1/4" more than half as tall as one (64% the height, by the numbers). To be clear, only the two Key|Smart branded items are included with purchase. The carabiner and wire rope keychain are my preferred attachment accessories...hotel key for size reference.

Got snagged up and wouldn't open right, after the first day. Tried opening it to fix it but can't get it back together without a decent amount of effort so now the parts are sitting in a bag somewhere. Wouldn't buy again though Inlove the idea and fidget factor.

I saw this and wanted to get it because the bottle opener looked solid compared to the slim type you find on all the other keysmart widgets and it looked like it'd suit my keychain setup. The truth is the safetul is weighty but it is advertised as 117g so you go in knowing this. Mine weighs in a little under 90g without the added clip and a little over with it. The button pusher/stylus does work on capacitive touchscreens since it conducts electricity with the copper alloy. I tested on half a dozen different touchscreens and they all worked. That said, it is metal and you might inadvertently use it as a bus hammer on a touchscreen. Which I actually think would have been a better and more popular alternative to add (the Safetul is discontinued, presumably due to lack of sales). The door pull does come pretty tight which I think is good so it doesn't pop out in your pocket, however, a little hex key work to loosen is all it needs if you want it to flick like a switchblade. The doorpull is interesting but fiddly and obviously isn't for circular doorknobs. 3 stars because it is well made and useful for me, but would have been better if it had a bus hammer (emergency glass breaker) and seatbelt cutter combo built in but I have an Eickhorn-Solingen PRT for that anyway.
