Rheem UV11700 Electric Thermostat Small

I'm late with this review perhaps two months and let me tell you this thing works great. I'm not a plumber not a technician just somebody that wants the video and put this in and it works great...

I got what I ordered, but I didn't look at description well, I needed a thermostat for a two-element water heater in my rental unit. But it's ok, I used this one until the correct one arrived. I have a single-element unit in my home, so no biggie.

I had a problem with my water heating so I replaced both the upper and lower thermostats. Come to find out it was the upper element that was malfunctioning.

I use this to set a top temperature to keep the electric heater in my small hot tub from getting too hot. It shuts off every day at the same exact temperature. 112 degrees. I only adjust the temperature after the tub has cooled down and the power is off. I have inslulated the tub and thermostat to reduce the affect of outside air temperature. It is attached to a piece of stainless steel that contacts the water. If you use an elactric heater, be very careful to avoid shocks. Unlpug the heater before getting in. I bought a second as a spare.

The plastic had been cut open on the top of the thermostat container. I hope this one had not been returned before.

Was installed in water heater late October 2024 and late November 2024 it has failed. Could not be adjusted low enough to keep water from almost scolding and then after about a mo th failed completely and we didn’t have hot water at all.
