BUTTERY RED AND BLUE, didnt get a purple though.
The red is the best one as far as boldness and sticking to everything. Cures in about 24 hours for it to be permanent. Black and white are good, the white is a bit softer so it's good for smooth surfaces. I would use the black on just about everything. The blue is SICK. I didn't get a purple though like in the picture...its blue. The yellow is light...I would use it on rusty or dark surface or even wood signs with dark backgrounds. The orange will be sick on blue or dark painted surfaces but it is literally about half as BOLD as the red and blue. Red, blue, and white are the stickiest and write the best. That's just my opinion though. SAKURA markers are better, but twice the price. So if your paying for it I would go with the Markal B Hobo all day. Also, as with ALL solid paint markers these are not instantly permanent, takes at least 24 hours. After a week it's pretty much there to stay other than sun damage.

Does the trick
These are what I pretty much expected. Solid acrylic paint in a push up tube. They worked well for me on canvas paintings. They get a little dry and are a little difficult to work with when too dry. If they were just a tad bit softer I think they would work better. I keep them in a zip lock bag when not using them and put them in water for a few minutes before I use them. They will do fine, good buy for the price.

One Broken Stick (UPDATE: TWO)
Purple came broken in 3 pieces and would slide out of the tube as if the sleeve didn’t fit properly. The other 5 colors do not slide in the tubes and were not broken as far as I could tell. UPDATE: Red was also broken and began sliding out of the tube before use.

Too hard to be smooth, and too brittle to use hard
I ordered a set, which arrived with half of the sticks broken. Amazon sent a replacement set, of which 2 were broken. Not off to a great start. Aside from the broken ones, the colors do not appear anywhere near as saturated as the pictures in the ad. Instead they have much more muted, almost pastel hues. I started by testing them out on some pieces of plywood and sheet metal scrap, and instantly had the first one snap in half with barely any pressure being applied. Even after rubbing the coatings off, they do not make nice solid lines without rubbing over the same area multiple times. Furthermore, the supposedly permanent paint was still uncured a few days later, easily rubbing off on my hand. Having used sharpie mean streaks, I figured this would be similar and easily smear a thick smooth line of rich color... Well, I figured wrong. Had the intention of using on a canvas, but I doubt that will ever happen, as it would be a waste of canvas.

Great marker!
I have used Paintstik markers for my newborn pups for many years. They are safe to use and last a long time on the pup for identification. Love the Lavender color!

Works great to fill engravings
I bought these because the numbers on the bottom of my golf clubs had faded. I used these paint sticks to fill in the engraving and they look like new again! I will still have to wait and see how they hold up once I get out and play but so far, they are holding up great and the application was easy!
