Emma: 200th-Anniversary Annotated Edition (Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition)

The book is absolutely beautiful! I have not reread it yet, but have glanced through all the notes that help the modern reader and they seem quite engaging. I look forward to reading the book as a much older reader than the first time!

The only thing better than an annotated edition of a classic is an annotated 200th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. Why purchase just the book when you have an opportunity to enhance, expand and better appreciate a book you are probably re-reading anyway. Thank you Juliette Wells for the introduction, essays and a wonderful list of suggestions for further exploration.

I know this is a controversial take, but I believe this book to be Jane Austen's best book. The characters are beautifully written and complex without being complicated. The book embodies the epitome of show don't tell, with each interaction having a connection to the next. Beautiful, beautiful book!!!

I liked this physical book and edition of Emma, but did not love the actual book Emma.

A past reviewer complained about pages being uneven and some longer than others. This is called DECKLED Edges and it is intentional. It honors a vintage retro, unique look. Not all books have this feature but it's considered a plus. I LOVE them and book was sent in perfect condition. It also has french flaps instead of a dust jacket and a great texture.

Wonderful edition! So many extras about the history and essays about different themes in the book, all to honor the 200th anniversary.

I am really enjoying this edition and I am happy that it is available in ebook form.
