UltraSharp Black Snap-Off Heavy-Duty Blade (9070)

I love these black blades.---But they do have limited durability. I also like the Olfa Mountable Blade disposal product---for safety in disposing of used blades. (Thanks to the limited lifespan of these blades, I got to try it out quickly.)

They are sharp

The only blade I use in my OLFA 1072198 LA-X 18mm Fiberglass Rubber Grip Heavy-Duty Utility Knife. I use it primarily for breaking down cardboard boxes. It cuts through all thicknesses of cardboard boxes like butter. It makes it safer and easier for me. No more yanking or repeated hacking like I did with my previous cheap boxcutters. One smooth stroke gets through any box. I've also used it for cutting foam core and styrofoam and all sort of tape and ropes. One blade will last a very long time for me. Changing to a new blade is also safer for me. I just hold it with a plier and push down to snap off the old blade and a new blade is ready to go. No lifting and replacing a razor sharp blade in the cutter. Bottom line: A superior quality product and a value in every department - performance, safety & cost.

OLFA products aren't cheap, but they are worth the investment when you don't want to compromise. I was fed up with the cheap, thin, replacement blades from other suppliers, and I don't regret buying the better quality, which also makes for safer use. Having a sharp blade on a cutter can be dangerous if they snap off during use.

Good quality, cuts well, holds edge for a long time.

This company manufacturers high qualiry products. The refills are excellent. Definitely a case of "you get what you pay for".

Great blades for a great knife (Olfa 18mm L-5), definitely superior to what the big box hardware stores carry.

does the job, and seems to hold an edge longer than the bright steel blades.
