Impressed
Don't let the price fool ya. Very nice casting rod in the Graphite / glass 8ft 2-piece 15-30 lb class. Flexible tip section with nice smooth overall bend when fully loaded with 10 lbs. 8 guides plus the tip is a sign of the higher priced rods. Not 5 guides like you see on the other cheaper overseas rods. These new guides are bullet proof. No more inserts to pop out. All one piece stainless. If the gimble but turns you off well that's not a deal breaker. They make all types of gimble but caps for about $3 to $4 bucks if that's what you got to have. Have not fished it yet on the salt water bridges here in Fla. that's why 4 stars. I will put it through the test. Been fishing for 60 years, if loaded with 20-25 lb test and my Penn 140 or 146 squidder should be a winner and a great caster and definitely not just for catfish. Always use a bridge gaff or bridge net to bring the big ones up. Seen to many $100+ rods broken that way. Besides the 7 year warranty its a ugly stick always reliable. Aug. 13th update. It casts much better with the 3 oz weight its rated for loaded with 20 lb mono. Probably will handle more. The pole is on the stiffer side but very sensitive. Remember what its designed for Weight and Bait. For all you one piece pole fanatics out there with today's technology the two piece become one unit and still bends smoothly. All my Ugly Stik's are two piece some are over 25 years old never broke one. My Ugly Stk "Tigers" Spin and Conventional both two piece, they stand right up to my old deep sea poles that are heavy one piece. 30lb groupers are no match. Most poles one or two piece are broken when loaded past its rating with drag seized up.. Don't go over 30 lb braid if pole is max rated at 30 lb. Make sure drag is working properly. Got a 40+ lb Black Tip after an 3/4 hour of fight. This rod proved itself as a reliable pole with my 140 Squidder. The bend was scary at times with it in my rod but holster. No sounds or signs of cracking or stress. Now its 5 stars.

Great overall rod
So i own 2 of these paired with kastking kastan reels which are awesome by the way. So i needed some good catfish rods, bigger than what i had. I bought these a few months ago. I have caught over 200 fish on these. 20 over 20 pounds and one 35 pounder. And as asmall as 8 inches. These rods are great. On the big fish you have plenty of backbone to fight them in heavy current, but sensiutive and light enough to get a descent fight out of a 2 pounder. The action is fast enough that the rods flex softly so the finicky fish still get caught. I solely bank fish and pier fish. I really lijke these rods i was unsure at first due to the size, but no i love them. I caught an angry flathead friday that weighed 25 pounds. This rod handled hium with ease. He was asetious runner and fighter and did not quit. The 35 pound blue cat i caught recently also was a hard fighter and just plain heavy. This rod worked awesome. The reel seat has not moved, they fight great with big and small fish, not heavy at all for the size, and well they are ugly stiks. Just but them. Great rods overall anyone complaing is just a whiner.

Great
Paired with piscifun reel. Very nice and versatile; use it for surf fishing, catfish, musky, pike, the possibilities are endless.

A decent budget rod
Happy with the rod so far especially for the price. I knocked a star off because the rod did come with some scratches on the blank and some of the eyes was bent but those wasn’t hard to bend back. Paired it with a 6500 c3 and 20lbs hi vis mono. The rod has a pretty moderate action with an extremely soft tip. I feel the rating of 1/2oz to 3oz is spot on. I wouldn’t want to go any lighter or heavier with this rod. This will make a great rod for using circle hooks and fishing in lakes and lower current rivers where not much weight is needed. I would buy this rod again with out a doubt.

Can't beat this for the price!
I was happily surprised by the quality of this rod. Although I haven't fished with it yet, it feels great paired with a Diawa Seagate 20 loaded with 40 braid, should be nice for fishing up to a 4 oz. sinker, or jig. It has a hook keeper placed on the underside and the new guides they used (no more ceramic inserts) seem nice, comfortable foam grips and trigger reel seat. The weight of the rod quite light, I put it on my scale and it weighs in at 284g / 10oz, a lot lighter than many of the older black Ugly Stik rods. This is a great rod for a very reasonable price, and I looking forward to fishing with it this season.

Best rods on earth
Nice stout rod. Never expected anything less from an ugly stick. Love the white rod for night fishing. Would have liked a one piece 8ft rod. But nevertheless fine rod. Simply the best. I have several of these. I have read some reviews stating good for a cheaper rod. I have paid a fortune for rods. I have owned several high end rods. These are better than every single one I have owned. I have caught anything from channel cat to flat head to striper. I has everything thrown at it. My oldest ugly stik is so old, I have no idea how old it is.
